Scholz was far worse, in my opinion. Biden had moments where he wanted to rage and level putin since Bucha (the madman comment in Poland), but poor, cowardly advisors kept him restrained. Scholz was acting without that advice, and still didn't give the heavier kit until much later.

Putting Europe into a wartime economy might have shown russia we were in it for the long term, that you can't match us, we will wear you down and beat you. Putin might have then backed down.

When we are up against it, we can get things moving quickly, as Ukraine has shown with 20 bohdanas a month.

This is something that should have been started on from the beginning of the war, especially as it's cheaper to do. But heck, better now than never. Already Ukraine supplies over 40% of their needs, Europe can easily match the remaining 60% needed.

Imagine if Czechoslovakia used the LT vz.35 and 38 against Germany in 39, had them in ample supply, wonder how they would fare against Panzer 1 and 2's?
