Thanks for reply Grainne. Katie is aware of the active #T1D peer support group in Louth as she is a member of FB group. One of the admins is going to chat with her on Saturday.

I like that the Drog Indo has highlighted diabetes👍but I am very, very disappointed and sad that Catherine doesn't engage with her local #T1D #T1Diabetes #peersupport community here in #Louth on any level🤷♀️😥

Ach nach bhfuil sé greannmhar, nuair a fuair sí bás tráthnóna inné, nuair a chuir Aisling an scéal chugam, bhí an ghrian ag dul faoi ar chúl Ghóla, bhuel, níl a dhath cosúil leis.
We discovered a cupboard on one of our ambulances which keeps things cold and used it with large frozen milk cartons to keep the insulin as in a fridge.
Ingenuity of volunteers🤩🥰delivering #insulin to people living with #diabetes #T1D in war torn regions when things don't go to plan🙏👍

One I'm definitely looking forward to listening to soon🙏
💯⏫@ recent launch #HERA initiative I commented "so-called hard-to-reach grps aren't hard to find, too often our systems haven't spoken to them in ways that resonate, or listened when they share their experiences"
ALL systems need to listen, engage w/ communities & fit into their life circumstances
"The focus on relationships is a way of prioritising the human in the system, understanding what matters to them & developing responses that fit with their life circumstances, rather than expecting people to fit into services"🙌💯

Yep, even wore a warm fluffy fleece and had a short walk beforehand! My veins have become progressively worse over the years yielding blood and sure who can blame them after 50+ years of bloody pestering😜
Definitely not pleasant, keeping everything crossed for a better outcome!

You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her Or you can be full of the love that you shared You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday You can remember her and only that she is gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Pic shows PK (one of his favourites he says) with this wonderful slide which states: The best science or research in diabetes is the one that gets into people's lives otherwise - its a footnote in history, or a line on your CV
Borrowing this slide from @parthaskar.bsky.social 👏re #diabetes care to amplify recent launch of Health Equity Research Alliance #HERA by RSCI which🤞will strenghten collaboration to tackle structural barriers to equitable health research&reduce unfair health inequalities
