When I was little my Papa made this tonic which was lots of home grown garlic & chilli in brandy. We had to drink a spoonful when we were sick. I'm not sure if it worked just because we didn't complain so we didn't have to drink it or if it actually worked. He was Romanian, garlic for everything

Omg! Madness. I've seen this river near Fitzroy Crossing and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen

My Oma wore them to bed every. Night, tied up with a silk scarf. She was still having the hairdresser come to do her hair weekly in hospital when she was 91. I always put her lipstick and eye-liner on for her until she passed away

Color lithograph trade card with a scene of two anthropomorphic shorthaired tabby cats with cute round white tummies playing baseball in a field against a light blue background. One cat tosses a ball toward the other cat which is holding a wooden bat. In the upper left corner fancy text spells out "We recommend the Sterling Pianos" and in the lower right corner it reads "James Bellak, 1129 Chestnut St. Philadelphia, PA."

Because nothing says "buy a piano" like cats playing baseball. Ca. 1880. www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-...

Apparently, If You Cross Corgis With Other Breeds, They End Up Looking Like A Corgi Disguised As The... Nah, it ain't a Dalmatian, it's not a husky, and not a shepherd. This is a corgi pretending to be a beagle and we all behave as if we fell for it.

Corgis bred with other dogs look like the Corgi is cosplaying as the other breed.

My fluffy white cat Francie sitting on a yellow wooden chair with a darker yellow print cushion. She is looking up in the air with her mouth open because she’s meowing.

Francie is telling a very sad story about how sometimes nobody pays attention to her for stretches of up to ten minutes.

My rental garden was nothing but soil with weeds & a few trees. So I weeded the soil & planted clippings from a friends garden as ground cover. I used 'pig face' & 'creeping thyme" which grows by shoving a piece in the ground. The whole garden became covered
blocking the weeds & making it so pretty

That's so awful. I'm so sorry someone actually said that to you. People are real dickheads sometimes. I've suffered a lot due to my childhood & disabilities too. It's hard work to get through every single day. You are incredibly strong for making it each day!!

I'm so disappointed with Australia for voting NO to changing the constitution. Not acknowledging indigenous ppl & rejecting the proposed Voice to Parliament. I had been hopeful the Australia had grown up & left behind its racist past. Obviously it hasn't & we should be called out & ashamed about it!

“whatever you think you can’t do, just know that there is someone who is confidently doing it wrong right now. They have no plans at doing it better either and people are paying them to do it. Please believe in your own excellence as much as they believe in their mediocrity.”

Be careful to separate people from the policies of their governments. Be careful to separate people from the actions of terrorists who live among them.

Be careful not to collapse history and context into narrow interpretation. Be careful not to eschew complexity and nuance for the sake of memeification.

Be careful to recognize that grief for one side does not mean hate for the other. Be careful to understand that support for one side does not mean hate for the other.

Be careful of gaslighting on a mass level: disinformation and denial of loss.

Be careful not to dismiss the excruciating and real pain of others. Do not make it worse.

Be careful not to say things online that you would not say to someone in real life. Be careful not to add hatred on top of hatred; we are all being crushed underneath its compounding weight

Be careful not to lose empathy for those with whom you disagree. Be careful not to dehumanize others. Doing so dehumanizes you.

Do not lose touch with the parts of

Esther's words are so insightful &decent. We are all people with mother, fathers, sister & brothers & possibly we have our own childrena well. The whole conflict is incredibly nuanced and it would be a Fools gamete take one side. The is atrrocity, pain and blood on many ppls hand. Gve peace ✌️ chance

I've got Covid now for a 2nd time. First time was like a stomach bug but this time is like terrible flu with restricted breathing etc. Luckily I qualified for antivirals because before I got them I was going downhill fast, not I'm feeling a lot better
