Look, spring in Canada, I know, but TWICE now there's been a week where I walked to the gym in shirtsleeves followed immediately by a Monday where I need to get my sweater and mitts back out and I am OVER IT. ๐ฅถ

I'm so glad they switched the heat in my building over to A/C last week, given that it's going to be below freezing tonight and tomorrow night ๐ซ
A book I read in ARC and haaaaated keeps popping up on my tl and I am being very nice and not saying anything. But it is difficult.

Tweet by director Joseph Kahn: The solution to the theatrical problem is very simple. Extend the time before it goes to streaming. Make it 180 days. 6 months. If you don't watch it in theaters you won't get to see it for a long time. Studios have devalued their product by letting the consumer know there's no urgency. They're going to see it for "free" later. They've cheapened the business into a buffet and violated basic supply and demand.
plainly true

This is really quite a sad state of affairs. Studios are now so risk-adverse they're not even willing to develop shows anymore, they instead want others to bear all the costs and effort and then license those shows or put them into production after they've been fully baked without any funding.

I saw this at the NT and it was great; Pike deserved the Olivier win! If I were crossing the border I'd consider going down to NY to see it again, however,
Mark Ruffalo, Glenn Close, Ben Stiller, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Kristen Stewart, JJ Abrams, Katie Phang, John Leguizamo, and over a thousand actors, writers, directors, journalists, producers, composers, and Hollywood executives have signed a letter against the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger:

A friend of mine is sharing photos from the techno rave taking place outside the Hungarian parliament and itโs just nice to have some joyful political news, isnโt it
interesting that when a movie with female protagonists does poorly the response is to cancel upcoming projects with female protagonists and when a movie with female protagonists is a huge hit the response is to cancel upcoming projects with female protagonists

Carney's cutting science spending, including the development of a Canadian-made lunar rover module.
Wonder if he mentioned that on the call.
A very stocky Exmoor Horn ram.
Happy 8th anniversary to the tweet that changed us forever. Look at this absolute unit.
