Perhaps the goal is to ensure critique is aimed at systems of power rather than at identities; critics should also highlight when a work challenges structures while pointing out where it might reinforce biases. This will keep the conversation both provocative and responsible.

Is #ageism one of the least discussed forms of #inequality? We compared tweets on #ageism, #sexism and #racism posted over 15 years. Ageism-related hashtags were used the least, with racism hashtags used 60x more and sexism hashtags 24x more. doi.org/10.1111/jgs....
