The other thing I remember about Talk Talk, was a comment from below-the-line in the Guardian I think, that said Talk Talk were a band who came from the future, made 5 perfect albums, then left.
For the first time in months I'm sat in my small personal studio and I've put on The Colour of Spring by Talk Talk. It sounds wonderful. I've never tired of it. I remember a quote from Mark Hollis saying he couldn't be a successful musician and a Dad at the same time, so he chose to be a Dad.

A while ago I was looking at eBay listings of old mixing desks, things pretty much beyond repair, but I like the way they look; I imagined cleaning one up and putting a glass sheet over the top and turning it into a dining table. Chat GPT has been helping

For a long time, I thought it would have been a Roland W30, bought new - many projects and ideas and dreams later - it had gathered dust and binned it on eBay. I appreciate the time I spent with it, but I don't miss it. I think our Buddhist friends advise on letting go of attachment.

I appreciate that sentiment, very much. For many years, my artistic partner and I took songs written for guitar and voice, turned them into (sometimes) crazy electronic extravaganzas, loved what we did, then turned what we did back into vocals with piano accompaniment. Miss that.

It’s worse than this I think @vijayyiyer.bsky.social the figures in payout per stream are the amounts paid to the distributor. What gets passed on to the artist and musicians will depend on rights, licensing, publishing, etc.
