When they say "ai will ship games faster" they just mean cheaper. And not cheaper for you.
The key word missing from that entire statement is "better"

This book was supposed to be less than 100k words when I Started it... shit happened. I've got like 10 more chapters to go.
I might be smitten... the more I learned about @wyldheartgame.com and the team making the game the more I fell in love with the concept. I went ahead and backed the game...and then went and rambled about it for a good 16 minutes: I cannot wait for this co-op RPG

These are threats, promises even, of war crimes. This is not normal. This is not okay. This is horrifying.

One of the most consistent things as a content creator: Every time I paint my nails. It really upsets some insecure men in the comment section:
Be yourself. Let other people be miserable twats if they want to be.
This doesn't solve a problem that exists. If you want to make a game right now, you can. Some of my most anticipated games are from indie studios or solo devs. Just go do it. The tools are there. You don't need ai slop machines that make it shit and look generic.

One of my biggest problems when writing is that 2 years into writing something I come up with shit I want to add that adds another year to the draft.
I don't think there has ever been a game I have played that has made me change my opinion on it back and forth more than Crimson Desert. I have both hated and then loved this game more than I can count. It truly is a single-player MMO.
Recently ive struggled my ass through a chapter in my book. Ill probably come back and rewrite or cut a lot of it but now that its finished the next chapter is flowing if youre working on something and struggling. The struggle doesnt last forever. The flow does come back.
Thank you @owlcatgames.bsky.social for letting me sit in on a a fantastic QA session that had me vibrating in my seat with excitement for Osiris Reborn. This game is looking special.

im still not convinced this animated film wasn't a fever dream I had as a child.
Well alright then @everquest.bsky.social and @daybreakgames.bsky.social this sounds interesting...can this be the start of more EQ IP licensing projects? Can we get a Champions of Norrath 3 Please? Lords of Norrath 2?

Thank you for putting into words (and pictures) with the authority if your experience what we've been desperately trying to say with every new "oops that gen AI got left in there" mistake over the last few years.
If you can't imagine what your final product will look like with stick figures or pictures of the developer's cats instead of GenAI placeholders I really don't know if I want to play the final product because I can't trust that you're actually imagining a quality game in the first place.
Please do not use "its just too complicated for plebs" as a defense of a game, any game. It reeks of entitlement.
I say this as a fan of games old school games like Everquest. But I see it thrown around a lot to excuse bad game design choices.
One of the fun things from crimson desert "not holding your hand"
A bug where the quest npc literally disappeared had me running around for 30 minutes with a cat until I looked it up and realized a cutscene was broken and I had to reload an old save. You could pet the cat though.
First two hours of Crimson Desert have been a bit painful. A long extended tutorial with the blandest protagonist I've ever seen. Paper-thin enemies that die in two hits. My expectation is it will ramp up exponentially but this might work in an MMO, but it doesnt work in an rpg
The new Exodus gameplay footage is looking really good. But i hadn't realized how improved it looked from the first footage we saw until I started putting this video together.

Sounds about like what expectations were going in. It seemed like they were descoping from an MMO and it was very concerning that they didnt seem to be doing anything to connect you to the characters or the story before the game launched just "look at this stuff you can do."
Reviews of Crimson Desert so far really do look like "We made an MMO Single Player Game" right down to Loads of stuff to do, uneven quality with ups and downs, big swings, big open world, hundreds of hours of gameplay and a meh story.
Looking forward to playing it myself.
Best one I've seen yet.

Yeah no. This is gross and unwanted.
Get this trash out of here. I dont want your damn ai snapchat filters. I want to see the game the devs made.
Don't make us pay for your shortsighted bad investments.
Nvidia out here trying to make games look more generic than Unreal Engine.
Before Crimson Desert launches:
Green flags
- Lots of footage that looks fun
- Lots of Gameplay Previews
- No genAI
Red Flags
- descoped a multiplayer game
- Very little said about the story
- Denuvo sneaking in
- No Console footage
- Bloat (do it just to do it)
In other news, water is wet.
Use human actors you shits.
There's something special about #Solasta2 ....
Thank you to @tactical-adventures.com for letting me figure out first hand just how painful an ettin's club can be early. Theres a lot to love in the early access for Solasta 2, i just wish there was more of it. All my thoughts here:

Happy International Women's Day!
Throughout my life I have endlessly been inspired by women near and far. Those in my life like my incredible wife who's strength and resilience I admire each and every day to those that create good in the world on grand scale globally or locally
Is there an IP more suited to making an RPG than Dungeon Crawler Carl?
- Playing as just regular crawler, maybe throw in a hardcore perma-death mode?
