@qbklass.bsky.social @natetice.bsky.social never use this site but had to pop over here to tell Derrik how much I enjoyed the episode today. Agree with Derrik that Ward and Mendoza are similar tier but I kinda like Ward a little more due to the elasticity/creativity on the run

I don't know who follows me here that doesn't still follow me on twitter or listen to the pod but just in case I wrote a book on the history of Bears quarterbacks if anyone is interested in such things:

A really fun convo tonight about Caleb Williams, QB analytics, and the history of #Bears quarterbacks with @startkyleorton.bsky.social on our latest Bear & Balanced from @berckes.bsky.social & @wiltfongjr.bsky.social!

I've also resumed blogging a bit tho this is more general NFL than just the Bears. Dan Bernstein did basically read this entire article on his show tho

I want to but I've just built up so many relationships with folks who haven't migrated here full time yet, it's tough.
For all my fellow Bears fan Twitter refugees.....listen to the SKOdcast & support Kyle's other work!
Oh hey its the real you over here!

I should pop on here more often but for anyone who is on here and hasn't seen I did resume blogging about football stuff

Miss you on twitter but this is correct (and we were still right about Daniels, history will vindicate)
Tyson Bagent is Joe Montana out there throwing to future Footlocker employees every preseason, if your dude was so much better than the competition it would show
The Shedeur cope is insane. "He's being sabotaged they got him w fourth stringers!" Yeah playing against fourth stringers bc he is in fact the fourth stringer
We must put him into the laboratory for three years and when he emerges he may be......David Garrard
Damn right. Desipio Message Boards shaped the internet's best deviants
I have a suggestion
I get why my film bros still think there's hope. I get why my analytical nerds are like lol. Lmao. I'm more the latter, but man you just don't see a guy show "it" as often as he does and still suck.
Usually when they say a guy "flashes" they just mean "had moments where his fuck ass process still got results" like the Trubisky 6 TD game. But Richardson legitimately flashes moments of anticipation and pocket presence and processing that are so good and then buries them in miles of shit.
Like I have devoted way too much of my time to the analytics of football to believe that a guy can have what is quite easily the least accurate passing season since the merger and just be fine the next year. But I don't know the guys who are truly bad just don't seem to have those moments either
I don't know that I've ever been more maddeningly frustrated by a QBs tape than Anthony Richardson. It is all there, everything you want, but it's so infrequent and so fucking ugly when it's not I really can't make myself believe he can cross that gap but I can't give up on him fully either
I think it's probably a better Supermam movie than it is just a movie I'm sure there's plot and pacing issues normal people care about that I just don't because I took my boys to see a Superman movie and they thought it was awesome and recognized it was actually fuckin Superman
Also I'm glad we've finally broken the "superman only knows what to do when Jor Els hologram ghost tells him" thing. As far as I'm concerned Jor El only ever needs to put the baby on a rocket and die.
This is great because Superman has such a vast background to draw from it's been frustrating seeing the movies get stuck playing mostly within the parameters of the Donnerverse
Superman 2025 feels like the first one to use the comics and even stuff like Smallville and the Bruce Timm animated stuff as it's primary source, there's tons of All Star and Birthright especially in there.
II-IV are direct sequels, Returns is a weird masturbatory sequel/homage to an unreleased directors cut of Superman II. Almost everything in Man of Steel is something that happens in Superman I or II, just aggressively repackaged and desaturated to show This Ain't Ur Dad's Superman
Even though it openly borrows some of the iconography and the theme I enjoyed that Superman was the first Superman movie since Superman 1978 that didn't feel like it was just a sequel or a remake of it.
Also I don't even know if they're on here but I laughed incredibly hard at Alyssa managing to make a Superman review that was mostly just "Go Birds" extremely on brand there
I saw your review on letterboxd and agreed but I gave it an extra star on account of being an unapologetic DC nerd who had a great time watching Superman with his kids.
And there was a moment where things looked Grim and I heard Augie mutter to himself "it's okay..he's coming" and then superman fucking supermanned
What matters to me is I took both boys and there was a moment where Superman was flying and they were both absolutely locked on the screen, mouths ajaw, believing a man could fly.
