As a kid I’d hear Jimmy Page and think there was no way I could ever play like that. But Ace? Yeah, with a bit of practice I bet I could learn those riffs! He was a goofy guy having the time of his life and he is the sole reason I’ve always had a guitar within reach for nearly 50 years.
I have no proof of this, but I sincerely believe that Ace Frehley was responsible for more antsy teens picking up guitars than any other musician in history.
