I found this NYT article ("Sorry, but this is the future of food") to be very problematic. For starters, Grunwald misrepresents the situation in Sri Lanka and their so-called organic experiment. The article uses a political ecology of agriculture framework to shed light on how Sri Lanka’s ban on chemical fertilizers impacted the dietary diversity and food security levels of disrupted conventional and long term organic tea farmers.
