2 mutual aid websites to find/share food during SNAP cuts:
• mutualaidhub.org
• mapping.littlefreepantry.org

Zooming into each map reveals more locations.

When visiting a location, I recommend bringing multiple people to scout the area and make sure it's trustworthy.

Today marks the first day in the 55-year history of PBS and 54-year history of NPR that public media has broadcast to its audiences without federal funding. But even though lots of local outlets are at risk, PBS and NPR are still here, providing fair, accurate news coverage and will not be silenced.

kudos to Patch newspaper for properly using the word ‘disappeared’ as a verb here to describe this abduction.
ICE will not say where he is.

“This brutal detention center was burning a hole in the fabric of life that supports our most iconic wetland and a whole host of endangered species, from majestic Florida panthers to wizened wood storks. The judge’s order came just in time to stop it all from unraveling.”

I'm not sure I can actually deal with the latest bout of court-sanctioned transphobia.

There will be no justice but that we make for ourselves.

Trump wants to make the military takeovers scary to stop resistance but the truth is the military is not large enough to control all the major cities if there is mass resistance. They'd need 600k troops at a minimum and the national guard only has ~336k. They can't actually hold cities if we resist.

Btw, I remember there being some anxieties around folks expressing their opinions during primaries.

Besides being nowhere near a presidential primary at the moment, now is in fact the time for people to express certain lines they expect candidates not to cross.

Protect trans folks.

Waymo to begin testing self-driving cars in Manhattan and Brooklyn The Google-affiliated company is the first to land a city permit to test autonomous vehicles.

I recently witnessed a Waymo vehicle refuse to get out of the way for firetruck with blasting sirens and flashing lights. It was obviously not programmed to know what to do in that circumstance. I wondered about the consequences at the fire.

And the thing is, they’re so easily done.

Add some concrete and signs to block the cars and some public art, seating, and flowers to make it feel like a place.

Your city and town can do this, too!
