Because Ant isn’t a Free Throw Merchant

No matter where you go, drivers are speeding.
80 traffic calming project areas! Potentially multiple projects per area! Speed humps, bollard installations, neighborhood traffic circles!
Probably should rename it Free Throw Merchant of the Year?
That would be more accurate.
Yes.
Getting a new roof (didn't go through insurance) brought my premium down by $1300/year. So if you get a new roof let your insurance broker know so they can update the policy.

flipping through a proof of yet another book from a somewhat well known liberal voice diagnosing “where the left went wrong” and i’m struck, again, by the fact that a large part (if not most) of the liberal commentariat simply does not believe that the political right has agency.
It is incredibly disappointing to see votes against extending the eviction notice by just 15 days.
What I don’t understand is when the opinions of experts matter to these CMs and when they don’t. Sometimes it feels they pick and choose data to support an outcome they want. Subjective not objective.
god this guy rules. he says "I'm going to fix this" and then just goes and does it. really humiliating for every other mayor honestly
I was at Walker library in Uptown Saturday (children and families were inside doing library stuff, seemingly unafraid). The county appears to have sawed off the stone bench that used to be fixed to the wall at the entry.
There isn't a violent crime problem in uptown. There is a visible poverty problem, but that's not the same thing. At all.
"Another young person told me Uptown is like Gotham City"
No they didn't. That didn't happen
and the best part is that, while Norm is special to a lot of people, Minnesota showed that it's full of Norms. they built the whole state out of Norms. that's how we got through it and how we'll continue to heal and rebuild.
Norm does not really need me to qrt him, but we've talked for months about this family and this is an incredible deed among so many like it. The story of the occupation of the Twin Cities is people putting everything they have into helping their neighbors. Proud to call Norm a friend.
Honestly I think it's great that reactionaries in this state get a BusyBox to sink all their time into. I hope the MN GOP makes this a top priority in all canvassing efforts this year.
instead of saying "billionaires will be billionaires" or "business is business" maybe demand that they all do better?? idk but seems to me we should stick to our values, even when people/companies we like defy them.
I have to be there either way so 🤷🏻♂️
Reading this thread of yet another example of the extraordinary things people continue to do in Minneapolis at the exact same time 5 City Council Members vote against a temporary 45 day eviction notice extension is really a shame. Residents continue to show up and do more than most Politicians.
This is awful.
“Another officer secured the backyard by 3:39 a.m. Officers noted that there were no footprints in the grass.”
Fucking Sherlock Holmes out there looking for fingerprints in the fucking grass instead of going inside the damn house and trying to save Melissa.
Alright, I’m home now so here’s the Norm update. Yesterday at 4pm, I got a text from a family I’ve been helping who had a loved one abducted a couple of days after Renée Good’s murder. This was the family that Norm Nation kept from being evicted (and you delivered). ICE had released their loved one.
This is a great idea. Need a lot more ideas for new public amenities/third spaces like this.
Thank you for your service, Shane! 🫡
I know you all didn't forget that it is National Library Workers Day today. I expect you are all celebrating accordingly. #NLWD26 ala-apa.org/nlwd/
And it is 100% preventable- if you are old enough to be vaccinated (12 months; 9 in a pinch). The younger you get measles the higher the risk of SSPE. Monstrous that kids less than 12 months are being exposed to this risk 🤬🤬🤬
The list of 100% fatal infectious diseases is short. SSPE (subacute sclerosing panencephalitis) is on it.
