At Coatham sands this morning 6 sandwich tern lingering, 6 common scoter on the sea and 12 more South. Pair of stonechat in the dunes by the golf course.
Adult Gannet north past Coatham Sands shore side of the turbines. Only thing of note on the sea.
We would prefer that Woodcock & other so-called 'quarry species' weren't shot at all, but recognise the Gov's proposed changes are an important first step.
We've produced step-by-step guidance to help you respond to Defra's public consultation ⬇️

Should be ‘twite’ at north gare.
90+ twice at north gare.
I was thinking of the Stockdale et al 2015 paper cited on the BTO website that suggested it was an important cause of adult and nestling mortality and that Collared Doves were possibly a reservoir over the winter that reinfected the population each spring.
Red kite north over South Gare just now.
Could it also be a factor in Turtle Doves as well?
