This @fccincinnati.com team may actually be really bad.

It worked because it allowed other people to be successful too, not just Lucho doing everything by himself.

Think more Steph Curry on the Warriors and less Micheal Vick at Virginia Tech.

They need to consider switching to a 4-3-3. Put Ender and Ramirez up top with Denkey as wingers.

Figure out your LB/RB situation with some combo of Smith / Powell / Obi / Teenage.

Or, go to a 3-5-1-1 with Dado playing under Denkey to force Kevin further up the pitch.

Something has to change.

The problem with @fccincinnati.com is that they’re playing a system that simply does not work (and has never worked) without Lucho Acosta on the field.

It didn’t work when Lucho was hurt / mentally checked out.

It hasn’t worked with Lucho gone from the team.

It won’t work with anyone else.

This is the same team @fccincinnati.com team as last year and the year before.

So yeah, all that offseason talk from Albright about refreshing the approach was absolute bullshit.

Matt Miazga being back for @fccincinnati.com is huge if for no other reason than this team desperately needs a prick / instigator on the field to keep the energy high.

Odd / interesting observation regarding the start of the @mls.bsky.social season --

Home teams are dominating bigly.

This weekend, the only road teams to win were playing against home teams that picked up a red card.

I eagerly await PRO’s condemnation of the behavior as legitimizing violence and harassment against referees.

Sure. But that’s also true comparing the NBA to Euro club basketball or the SEC to the MAC in football, etc.

These Euro super clubs don’t have to choose between skill and athleticism — they can have both with the money they spend.

As a pathway to getting into the CWC? Begrudgingly, yes.

I can't emphasize enough how much I've enjoyed the Club World Cup as a neutral.

It's given cities and communities around the world a chance to be on the world's stage.

I need @fccincinnati.com to be a part of this in 4 years.

This is fair -- and I offer some of the same criticisms on (SHAMELESS PLUG) "The World's GAM" podcast today.

I'm speaking more towards the idea of people who are writing the tournament off wholesale.
