I’m struggling right now, y’all.

I’m honestly uncomfortable asking for material assistance here.

But I do need some financial help as we’re dealing with sick & inured doggos + behavior problems & unexpected financial gut punches lately.

I wonder how adoption and maintenance/safe keeping of rotation keys might differ if they could just be physical keys (like a special usb stick or yubi key like thing) instead.

Skylight and Flashes use bsky api cdn and lexicons. Media here goes to both and vice versa.

Grain and Spark do not use bsky cdn or lexicons, but have the option to cross-post to it. Hoping to see more interop btwn them for photos @sprk.so @grain.social 😘

Flashes also has separate story lexicon.

you’re assuming that i’m corporate when in fact i’m very anti-capitalistic and very pro-socialism.

and i‘ll be less upset when people speak with nuance and stop spreading misinformation, both of which only further serves the oligarchs

Not tied to my phone number is a big W, and in future when it’s not iOS only not requiring a phone like signal will also be a big W

iirc there is some open sourced stuff? I don’t know enough about/ care enough to have clicked it, but I know others have posted replies about it

And they wrote a whole ass blog post about what caused the outage before this one, why are you assuming the worst? This was clearly an external malicious attack. Mastodon is currently being DDOS attacked.

Bad timing is far more likely an explanation. Shit happens. Shit happened before AI and still happens without being caused by AI.

“Even if it isn’t? It is” congratulations you’ve lost all critical reasoning ability. Mistakes and attacks happened before AI and — spoiler — those mechanisms of failure still exist. You can hate AI without blaming everything on AI.

Stop blaming every issue on AI coding just because you hate AI. Mistakes and issues existed before AI and — spoiler — those same mistakes and issues still exist.

Also this was an EXTERNAL ATTACK

This DDOS was an external attack not vibe coding. Stop spreading misinformation

9 hours ago 0 0 0 0

That’s not what caused this DDOS or the accidental internal one. Mistakes happen. People need to chill tf oit and stop assuming the worst, and especially stop spreading misinformation

9 hours ago 0 0 0 0

Yup of course. You’re not the first to fall for this misinfo being spread, unfortunately

Thank you - appreciate you’re willing to listen.

Cuz people are spreading misinformation. This latest outage they’re posting about was an external malicious DDOS. The one they wrote a blog post about was written before this outage even occurred about a different outage, making a mistake basically every engineer preAI would also be susceptible to

And you’re trying so hard to assume everything is an AI code problem. AI code was shit back in 2021, it was barely used

9 hours ago 0 0 0 0

This is about a different outage than the one they’re posting about here. Stop spreading this misinformation

9 hours ago 6 0 1 0

Almost like they’re not releasing more information yet because theres probably a good ass reason not to, like it being an outside attack.

Get out of your cognitive bias spiral

Stop spreading misinformation. It benefits nobody.

This is rampant misinformation that is doing harm by ignoring the sociopolitical motivation folks would have to DDOSS Bluesky and Mastodon

9 hours ago 6 0 1 0

this was a different outage and the rampant misinformation about has gotten way out of hand, if they’re less open going forward it’s because people can’t fucking read and spread lies

I know. I’ve seen it. That’s one idea in this thread, and one idea in the greater space re: how we can leverage this technology

take care of yourself first. i know it’s hard and stressful, but if you have family that supports you its okay to rest until you’re ready

14 hours ago 2 0 1 0

Oh yeah that’s fair, I did not envision that as a thing here - paper accounts. I see more potential for different organization (more modular) and signals like recommendation, collections, connections, discourse.
