In Kostiantynivka....The sky is saturated with Russian drones, military cars have protective cages built around them and net tunnels have been erected at the entrances to town to protect drivers.
I am amazed by how many articles are still published about Albania as a "new" or "hidden" holiday hotspot. Were travel editors really asleep for the last decade? Too many publications rely on free PR trips to promote destinations which means that what is produced is what they want and not reality.
@andreasernst.bsky.social interviewed me about European demograhy. It is a topic that is becoming ever more important.

“Trump says that the Ukrainians have no cards to play. He is wrong about that. They may not have as strong a hand as the Russians right now, but they still have plenty of cards, and they plan on having a lot more.” — @timjudah.bsky.social
“All Ukrainians are wondering what the future holds for them. They have lost a fifth of their country to the Russians, and for now there is no prospect of getting any of it back.” — @timjudah.bsky.social
Drones, the miltech to come, POWs....my latest piece for the series I have been writing for the @nybooks.com on Ukraine since February 2022 - or 2014 going back earlier.
