June 14 is Trump’s birthday and his military parade in DC — but the biggest story of that day will be the actions we take everywhere else. Join our nationwide day of defiance to show that organized people power is stronger than Trump’s authoritarian aspirations: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...

For several years, I have shared a learning science slide with my classes every week. Next semester, I am incorporating explicit practice of each of the techniques based on the topic I am teaching to better adhere to the Gradual Release of Responsibility or the I do, We do, You do model.

Question for #slpeeps Can SLPs diagnose dyslexia? I’m comfortable diagnosing a literacy disorder but tend to feel that dyslexia should be a team approach.

People from all different walks of life gathered today to practice their freedom of speech. #resistance can take many forms-today, I walked with my people and found strength in community.

If you damage the businesses of the richest man in the world, his friend the President wants to put you in indentured servitude in another country.
If you trash the Capitol to overturn the election, its pardons and praise.

Next up on my reading list…
Is there a difference between andragogy and pedagogy? As I teach Language Development this semester, I see so many parallels between the cognitive processes of children and adults….so I’m a bit skeptical. Would love to know your thoughts…

Finished this one a bit ago-I really like how this book includes applications to explicitly connect neuroanatomy to speech-language pathology

So much great information here...so many dog-eared pages. Looking forward to integrating the information into my next Speech Development and Disorders course next year.

Do you want to learn how to do a systematic review? Email me! We can design a workshop as a Thankyou for engaging so much in our systematic review these last few months. It’s not *everyone’s cup of tea - but will help you judge quality too!

I agree-that’s what we see as well. I wonder if the difference is competency-based education?

My 1st role as a SLP CE was in Australia where I supervised 3rd yr undergrads who demonstrated strong clinical skills. Now I work in the US where the CSD curriculum is so broad in scope, it sometimes feels like the combined undergrad (4 yrs) and grad (2 yrs) is not enough time.

I listened to the episode as well and shared it with several of my US colleagues. My question after the episode was: Should we be training our SLP/SLT
students to do research like systematic reviews to help make a stronger clinic to academic connection?

Thinking of creating a flowchart based on different types of #ssd subtypes to help students with assessment planning. Anyone know if something like this exists? #slp #speechies
