We fucking warned y’all that this was the goddamned end goal for those smart glasses.
ICYMI!
It is such an interesting story!
Good news, everyone: THE DROWNING HOUSE is on sale in audio form! For a limited time, just *ten bucks* gets you a weird modern gothic with Scandinavian undertones and overtones alike, set in rural Washington State on a strange (and real!) little island...

The TV has always had a background noise function for me. Mom remembers her family getting their 1st color TV. It was always on. I have music if I don't feel like having pictures and I have tasks to accomplish.
In this April edition of Prisons, Prose & Protest, I share an overview of a book about immigration policing and “sanctuary” policies, recommend two podcasts from the past month, several recent articles and essays, and more… open.substack.com/pub/prisoncu...
Calling all physics/astronomy science communicators! Applications are open for the 2026 #Scicomm Collider at @perimeterinstitute.ca! A great opportunity for folks doing all kinds of astro/phys engagement to meet, network, and share expertise on connecting the public with science! ⚛️🧪🔭🎢
Amazon Prime has the Jesus Christ Superstar movie from 1973, so watching it for Easter. #likeyoudo
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

Spectacular high-resolution image of our home planet viewed through the Orion Crew Module window by the Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon on Flight Day 2, 3 April 2026 (pic: NASA)

Deepest condolences. Glad you're giving yourself time
Regine does so much for the comics community. Also an Eisner judge this year, but that doesn't pay the bills in our industry. Please do consider tossing her a few bucks if you have the chance.
The US, Israel, and Argentina voted against it. The first two...not shocked. Great Britain and the rest of EU abstained. A fund will be put in place for reparations, but an official amount hasn't been established. For it to get this get to point has a been a fight. The work continues!
The cover of my collection in the center, with Barnes and Noble preorder information at the bottom and top. The sale runs from March 24 through March 26, and the coupon code for members is PREORDERS. The background is a deep red to match the cloaked figure on the cover. And the writing is a gradient of black and gold.
Psssst, if you wanted to snag my forthcoming poetry collection, Offerings for Ordinary Gods, from @clashbooks.bsky.social at Barnes & Noble with a discount, you CAN.

This looks so charming
ECCC was fun and I had a wonderful time.
But there was a storm cloud. When I complained about Trump with my white straight cis friends, we were all sincere and concerned.
But I talked with many Trans friends, and it’s so much worse. They are in fear for their lives.

So please, if you can, I’d love to have this thread list pro-Trans everything. Creators, craftspeople, writers, artists, activists…if you or someone you know deserves some celebrating, bring it the fuck on, okay?
Post links if you can.
Buy stuff if you can.
They hate when people stand up.
Solid list of folk horror films, many of which I added to my watch list. collider.com/folk-horror-...

Cream background with colorful confetti and streamers. Centered bold black text reads "HAPPY NATIONAL GRAMMAR DAY." Along the bottom, a row of illustrated books in muted reds, blues, yellows, and creams sits on a black shelf above an orange tiled floor.
Happy National Grammar Day!
In case you missed it, I made my LinkedIn Learning writing course free for 24 hours. 1/2

People having to be uprooted from their homes to be safe is frankly infuriating, but here we are. Donate if you can.
What we are asking if you live in NYC is that you not passively sit back and expect that things will "happen" or "change" but to be actively involved in making things happen and to change them. Do the very small thing of sending a letter to your Council member & CALL THEM. It's really easy to do.
Are you nominating for the Rhyslings ( @sfpoetry.bsky.social), Nebulas, or Hugos ( @sfwa.org)? I've got poems for you! Links in the thread below.
I'm very proud of the work I did last year, including the poem @kambriel.com and I cowrote. (Spoiler alert: writing poetry with a friend is wonderful!!)
My ACA insurance bill is 3K a month and I'm ready to sell feet pics. Somebody hire me to write and edit things and offer great benefits.
If anyone is making a #Comics4Liam but could use a letterer to lend a hand, please reach out to me.
Stop posting excerpts of my work as if it’s your own please. This paragraph was not written by the person below. It’s from my newsletter: sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/a-nation-o...
