I found @theprogressivemag.bsky.social as well; which I didn't know existed, to be frank, but is a delight. All of this while I'm still reading The Burning God by @rfkuang.bsky.social. everything is just so good and I'm having trouble deciding on what to complete first!

I recently bought the first 2026 issue for @harpers.bsky.social and I'm thoroughly enjoying it so I inevitably subscribed. I also subscribed to Maisonneuve and found their Winter 2025 issue in store, so I'm excited to dive in.

Since I'm a bit of a magazine fanatic now, I wanna talk about how saddened I am that I haven't received one by mail in a while. I read my Jan-Feb issues of @macleans.bsky.social and @thewalrus.ca back in December. I also received and finished my @nouveauprojet.bsky.social recently.

On to read The Poilievre Project by Martin Lukacs @breachmedia.ca. I'm grateful it was written so that there's a resource to help draw these connections. I'm also annoyed that I want to read it so I feel like I have more dirt on PP...

I have the December 2025 issue of @macleans.bsky.social, Chasing Homer by László Krasznahorkai who just won the Nobel prize in Literature and The Instant by Amy Liptrot. I've been collecting memoirs recently because so many of them sound fascinating but this will be my first and I'm so excited!

I'm a bit annoyed because I'm waiting for Kindle sales so I can buy one and continue reading The Poppy War series. I really just want to keep loving in Rin's world! At least I have plenty of material until that time:

I'm not great with movies. My partner made me watch #Gremlins for the first time. What a silly and fun movie it was! Even Arnie was watching it with us! I didn't manage to grab a pic of that, but here's Jupiter sleeping on me with Arnie in the background.

Read this article today while reading this month's issue of @macleans.bsky.social. I especially enjoyed it's closing! Posting some images of my choice section! The article shows how the can has been kicked so far down the road allowing capitalism to throw everyone deeper into debt.

I've been reading The Poppy War as an introduction to RF Kuang and as a fantasy series to step my toes back into the genre. I'm really enjoying it! Passed the 100 page mark and I'm vastly entertained by Rin. Getting Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes from the way Jiang was talking about elements.

The woman who owns the local English bookstore banned me from buying more books for a while because she wants me to read more of what I've already bought. She wasn't able to stop me from adding French books to my collection though! Buahaha!

France is recognizing the state of Palestine. It's not going to solve problems right away, but it's a move in the right direction! I hope this cascades through more western countries and leads to more than strongly worded letters.

Over the last few months, I've tried to join many organizations in Montreal and none have worked out. I feel like I need to be better at outreach for these things. I never quite understand what organizations need or how to reach out about it. While I figure out how to involve myself more... 4/5

Then I moved on to an old classic, and I just finished One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This and it's just incredibly brilliant. It still gives me tons of existential dread about how individually and collectively we are failing at protecting Palestinian lives. 3/5

And it, along with the people who work there, have helped reignite my love for reading. I started with some non-fiction about fascism because I thought it might ground me and help me work through the existential dread I have from, well, the state of the world. 2/5

Hello again BlueSky! I haven't posted in a while because I've been super with real life. I'd like to talk to everyone about my renewed love for reading. I hadn't read a book in nearly 10 years before I moved to my new place. There's a bookstore like 2 blocks away from me... 1/5

Every day I watch the clips that @atrupar.com posts, but I still can't believe how bad this is. The country is speed running into fascism and not just like dipping its toes into it but deep sea diving into the fascist ocean to bring back the worst there is in there.

This is my favourite move yet! My task for the day is to keep the dogs sequestered with me in a room while movers and @cnhart.bsky.social do the actual moving. The only things I'm missing are breakfast, coffee and a cigarette 🚬

That's some nice doggo ASMR! I always let Arnie and Jupiter finish the Greek yoghurt. It saves me from having to clean it before recycling.
