Shows of 2026. Boyfriend on demand. Well it’s nice to have a good Seo In Guk show after twelve. I thought this was pretty good the romance was sweet,side characters were pretty fun and the plot was good. I was expecting this show to be a lot dumber than it is but it is smarter than I thought.
Yeah I’ve heard that from a couple of people those that read the book first struggle with the adaptation. I don’t know how on board the author was with the show.
I watched both seasons I did like it but I don’t like where they ended things in the tv show and I read how the book ended things and I hated it so I’m probably never reading the book. There’s some good production here but yeah I don’t think the script quite works. Really disappointing tbh.
Day 15 time travel. I’m going for signal. I feel like this show used time travel really well and also had really strong characters. I do hope season 2 gets released at some point. #chinguchallenge
Day 14 trope bromance. I do love bros being bros.
Day 13 found family. Xo Kitty. I do love the found family elements of this show and I love Kitty and the whole cast. #chinguchallenge
So I’m going from watching art of Sarah to hospital playlist. I suspect it will feel like following up a whiskey with an ice cream.
Shows of 2026 art of Sarah. Yeah I really liked this one. It was very high concept but it worked. Shin Hye Sun’s performance really brings it all together. I really liked the interrogation scenes and I feel like it kept you guessing without being annoying.
The only thing I’ve seen him in is his cameo in alchemy of souls lol . I feel the narrative of coming in last minute saving the show and by all accounts knocking it out of the park. It’s going to be hard for anything to beat that narrative.
I mean I hope he does win. I just feel he gave such a great performance but I do feel like there is a fair chance they’ll give it to Korea’s golden couple. In fairness I haven’t watched made in Korea but RSR’s performance was so good I struggle to believe anything could beat it.
I feel like Myung SeBin because she’s a main character in DLOMK and I think putting her in best supporting is strategic. It would be kinda meta if she ends up winning and RSR doesn’t for best actor.
I wouldn’t discount Hyun Bin his wife has also been nominated and I can see the Baeksangs giving them both a reward.
Yeah if I had to bet on any of them it would be Lee Chae Min will win best new actor. He’s clearly an up and comer and the fact that he came in so last minute to be the ml and was so beloved. Jung Jun Won was really good though.
I find this post interesting. My barrier to immersion is quite high though like as a British person. Something like Bridgerton gets every detail wrong but I still love it and I know the history. Perfect crown seems to be going for a modern fantasy aesthetic that’s inspired by Joseon history.
I do wonder if they’re ever going to reference North Korea in perfect crown. I mean in king two hearts it’s still there but the relationship between north and South Korea is a pretty big component of the show.
Day 12 comedy. What’s wrong with secretary Kim. I just think this one was really fun. Just an old school workplace Rom com. #chinguchallenge
So I feel like I’ve come full circle with Byeon Woo Seok with perfect crown. As I first saw him in moonshine and I was just blown away. I just thought he was such a cool sexy prince and now he’s back playing a cool sexy prince.
Day 11 Childhood connection I’m going to go for fight for my way. I loved the kid scenes in this show and I feel like they added depth to the relationships rather than being a cheap twist #chinguchallenge
hows of 2026. Alien earth. Objectively the show is pretty good and it is kinda cool seeing the earth of the alien films. It does focus more on the androids than the aliens but not necessarily a bad thing
Day 10 zombie happiness. I love the people who try to sell this as a contract marriage trope which it is but the zombie stuff is really well done. I quite like how human the zombies are on this and maybe a slight spoiler but it’s a very optimistic view of the genre.
Day 9 best costume and production design. I’m going to go for alchemy of souls. I just love the world of this drama so much #chinguchallenge
Shows of 2026. Siren’s kiss overall a decent deconstruction of the siren trope and Wi Ha Joon and Park Min Young are really good here but the show seems to be a bit lacking I think the side characters needed more depth. For me it was a like not a love but I had fun with it.
Day 8 enemies to lovers. I actually struggled with this one but I’m going to go for semantic error. Just a fun little show where the person you hate the most goes to being the person you love the most. #chinguchallenge
I’m curious about this one. I feel like the concept translates well to Korea where you do have North Korean spies in Korea. Lee Byung Hun is having a bit of a winning streak recently. Should be interesting.
Day 7 revenge I’m going to be a bit different here and go for bloody heart. I think this is such a fascinating story of politics, love and revenge and I really loved it
Shows I watched in 2026 Xo Kitty series 3 I just unironically love this show. I love Kitty and her messiness and it was really cool to see Lara Jean again.
Day 6 family when life gives you tangerines just the family dynamics in the show were joyful and heartbreaking I love it so much but also just because of the weekend I love the Coveys from to all the boys I’ve loved before and Xo Kitty. #chinguchallenge
Day 5 villian Sun-a from devil judge. I thought a lot about what makes a good villian and I think for me it comes down to how much fun they are to watch and watching Sun-a control all the assholes around her is wondrous to behold. #chinguchallenge
Day 4 friendship. I’m going to go with the swag squad from weightlifting fairy I love their friendship so much #chinguchallenge
Day 5 villain Jung Sun-A played by Kim Min Jung from devil judge. Never has evil been so hot but seeing this woman control all the assholes around her in devil judge is so fun.
