Are you interested in replacing your gas boiler? There may be a pilot program launching later this year.
I have had a couple of close calls when walking, with cars driving the wrong way up there and hammering the accelerator. The City has totally failed on any real traffic control. Hard to fault staff IMO, mayor and council has slashed the budget pretty hard.
In these budget strapped times this feels like an easy one to bring in, if government wants to. There are many examples where it works.
Thanks for posting the email. I sent a request to ask staff to look at it and implement.
Progress within a bureaucracy. It depends on people like us. People that want to make the change. Good luck!

This one in Vancouver has never needed paint or reflectors. ;P
Some free EV charging while stopping for an appointment? Love to see it! I think it is mostly put in for people there for the whole day, but I will take a couple hours of free charging when I can get it.
Oil companies simply aren’t well suited to EV charging. The ‘build it and they will come’ approach is becoming less and less effective.
Wild how much of the fossil fuel infrastructure is being destroyed with the US war in the middle East. Long term this will keep fossil fuel prices high. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a...
100% It's a great approach to construction and with the right partners they're all issues that can be addressed.
Prefabricated components have worked well on Vancouver's new 123 home courtyard style development called Vienna House, but it does require a different approach to maximize the wins: www.biv.com/news/real-es...
Raining hard in Whistler this week. It has melted all the snow in the village.
In both mobility and heating electricity is beating hydrogen by a long shot.
Great thread on how BC and other large hydro provinces make money even when they import more power than they export. In BC, large hydro dams can respond to price signals in about a minute. Compare that with fossil generation and nuclear, that is lightning fast.
We toured the factory on a road trip. Also the tillamook factory. Both pretty great, but the jelly belly factory had more whimsy.
Provinces and territories united to build electricity infrastructure and transform Canada into energy superpower. A national connected grid on the horizon for Canada? it looks like it.

Electricity profits rebound to the tune of $890 Million in the first 9 months of 2025 as B.C. claims title as Canada’s top power exporter! B.C. has been a net exporter of electricity in eight of the previous 15 fiscal years. www.biv.com/news/environ...
annual reminder: Alberta's deficit is a choice.
How many meter base? 1? 2? 3? What size is the service?
Cool to see more of these electric vans about. Hardly a day goes by I don't see one working.
I use a 9v USBC rechargable from temu. They work well for what I use them for.
The Tumbler Ridge newspaper puts it better than I could
It seems money could not buy them happiness.
The City of Vancouver moved away from Chargepoint because their maintenance was so poor & slow. Locally the Tesla installs are great and the electrical utility BC Hydro installs are pretty solid too. The 3rd party ones are pretty hit and miss.
