In this webinar on April 23, Professor Jan Steckel will introduce an open-source tool, the Carbon Pricing Incidence Calculator (cpic-global.net), to provide insights for a broader policy dialogue on design and implementation of carbon pricing schemes.

Building on the outcomes of COP30 negotiations, he will explore what recent developments means for upholding and implementing ambitious climate targets.

In his presentation, Detlef will provide research-based insights into the state of global climate efforts, focusing on newly submitted NDCs and net-zero targets as assessed in the latest ELEVATE Annual Net-Zero Report.

Based on his work, in 2021 Reuters listed Detlef as the 4thmost influential climate scientist worldwide and in 2024 he was awarded the Spinoza Prize, the highest award in science in the Netherlands.
