Russ Ford was a master of the emery ball. He was born in my hometown of Brandon, Manitoba in 1883.
Former New York Yankees pitcher and @cdnbaseballhof.bsky.social inductee Russ Ford (Brandon, Man.) passed away on this date in 1960 at the age of 76.
His 26 wins in his rookie season with the Yankees in 1910 still represent a franchise rookie record.
⚾️ Thanks for much for playing Daily Walkoff, we’ve been blown away by its reception since launching a few months ago.
We’d love to reach as many baseball fans as possible in 2025. Can you help us get on baseball starter packs/lists that you own or are aware of?
We would be forever grateful! 🙏
