How Wizards/Hasbro/whoever decides to handle Secret Lair Drops continues to be a hostile and excruciating experience for those that opt-in to it and an incredibly disappointing experience to those who simply come too late.

Good news: you can get the Dandan secret lair now

In case it wasn't clear, my opinion of the TMNT set is that I wish it didn't exist, but that I will do my best to embrace it and the decks built with it.

Also, it is a mechanically superior set to Spider-Man, but has similar art and flavor issues.

I am looking forward to Strixhaven.

This is what will drive me to stop using discord, I hate how private messaging my friends feels like I have to walk through a mall full of vendors that don’t respect your personal space or time.

Yeah. Primary used for artifacts and charge counters, it can also give +1/+1 counters to creatures. It works wonders jumpstarting Stations or getting quick value out of your utility creatures.

I feel like folks didn’t appreciate Sunburst until the Counter Intelligence precon dropped. I am absolutely in love with Sunburst now, it’s so simple but can be huge in some situations.

I don’t know a lot about cake decorating but I do know that this is a huge find for just $3, that’s awesome.

Oooo I never looked into the story of Strixhaven, I just loved the vibes. I always love takes on “magic university” in stories and (at least visually and from what I’ve seen with the cards) Strix has looked so interesting.

It’s a huge reason why I love the game: you discover so many lore and story tidbits through the flavor text and the art and their combination, and sometimes it doesn’t hit you until you’re trying to remove someone’s problematic creature with Anguished Unmaking and you actually read the card.

I never ONLY stick to my homies, I still play with others often, I just find joy playing with my pod on our usual cadence. Sometimes that’s just the pipeline magic or any other hobby leads folk down.

We wouldn’t have been this close without Magic, and while folks are still able to join other pods and meet other folk, I think it’s perfectly fine and awesome if friend groups find themselves.

Yea yea, tho In my mind I still see it as gathering, if not at least the outcome of the gathering. The game brought us together and continues to bring us together consistently, and we’ve become a close-knit group outside of the game as we hang out and do things amongst our other shared interests.

…you’d kinda HAVE to play with whoever is there and available, but there is a joy in finding the few people amongst the rabble that you DO enjoy playing with and building up your own pod of homies you play and grow with.

At least that’s my story. You can still gather with your homies.

I would would agree in the whole “least social” aspect, but I personally see that as the end goal. There are just some kind of folk and some kind of players who have some kinds of play styles that I simply do not want to play with/against. While at the start when discovering a new TCG Shop…

While I’m not an avid “fan” of TMNT, I still very much love it from my childhood, but I really didn’t think it made for a good set for Magic.

I am really curious what wizards dictates which IPs become UB for Magic. There are so many other really solid choices.

TMNT at my LGS was actually pretty big which surprised me.
It looked like a pretty interesting set having watched a few games but again it just felt bad having another UB set as opposed to an in-universe set // a set that fit better with Magic’s fantasy aesthetic.
