a version of “The Most Interesting Man In The World” meme – a suave, well-dressed middle-aged white man with greying hair and a salt & pepper beard has one elbow crooked and is looking directly at you

the caption reads:

Did they just.... redo the original Git Flow graphic with AI for no reason?

I like how in the UK, they say car park. It makes me think of, like, a Subaru on a swingset.

Oh hey who wants a retelling of Sherlock Holmes where Holmes is an abrasive female scholar and Watson is a traumatized sentient spaceship who ekes out a living by making space tea?

(sorry I'm so late replying to this) gooood the Orkney isles. I've always wanted to go there.

If you end up going that way I would absolutely use it as an excuse to visit there too and also get to see you!

"I heard he was a musician ... and so the second or third day were just hanging out on the set, just him and me, and I say, 'So, you're a musician?' And he said, 'Yup.' And I said, 'What do you play?' And he said, 'Bass' And I said, 'You know, I've often wondered what is it like carrying that huge thing around everywhere you go,'" Stewart said.

He continued, laughing, "And God bless him, he said, 'No, bass guitar.' And I said, 'Are you a solo artist?' And he said, 'No, I'm in a band.' And I said, 'Oh, what kind of band?' And he said, 'The Police," Stewart recalled. "Folks, I said, 'You play in a police band?'"

Patrick Stewart admits popular music "has never played a big part in my life" and recalls how he didn't recognize Sting on the set of Dune

I encourage writers to never disparage their earlier works. Are they as polished as your current ones? No. But in their totality, they're a map showing where you started and what you learned. YOU made that journey, be proud, celebrate it. (Bonus: it proves you're human, and not an AI word monkey.)

I moved to Doraville in Atlanta yesterday with the cats, and Poe escaped before I got him in. Not looking for advice but if you're in the area please watch for him. He's all black with golden eyes, with an occlusion in the right eye. He's very shy. Lost on Winters Park Dr. @decaturish.bsky.social

Really really hoping Poe finds his way home soon. 💜 💜 💜

One thing you will never think after reading a great book or listening to a great album or seeing a great piece of art is, “I’m really glad this person remained cautious while they were making this and guarded against being perceived as weird.”

> New tech platform sets up
> Furries flock to it and essentially are the core reason it's user base grows rapidly
> Website becomes popular
> Website starts banning NSFW/adult content
> Starts to marginalize furries once it no longer needs them
> Rinse and repeat

the process to actually close my account:

read the help documents, they do not help > try the support chat, it's AI and has no idea what 'delete my account' could possibly mean > log a support ticket > ticket gets updated but I can't see the updates without registering on an entirely seperate site

Spun up an Oracle Cloud instance for a wee tech project, and whew. Just. Yikes. One of the most unpleasant and anti-user systems I've ever seen and this is for a service they presumably want me to like and pay for.

I don't generally touch Oracle stuff but I'm going to be avoiding it even more.

i can’t remember anything that has felt more foisted upon us than AI. repeatedly telling us why we actually need is like thinking a joke will get funnier the more you explain it.

Hope I worded that right! Basically the required person should be a semi-regular user of screen reader technology and familiar with it as a primary tool, not someone who uses it rarely and lightly for tech demos (or someone who just downloaded NVDA when they saw this skeet).

Looking for a UK-based user of screen reader assistive technology on Windows (eg JAWS or NVDA) for a short paid user study. No required tech knowledge or location, just that you're comfortable regularly using a screen reader for web browsing and have an existing set-up for it.

Drop me an @!
