The role of sexual fantasy on sexual desire, distress, and sexual worries: a randomized controlled study - PubMed Sexual fantasy exercises may serve as a brief, home-based intervention to improve sexual well-being. Future research should examine long-term effects and test applicability in clinical populations.

An erotic randomized controlled trial: participants were "randomly instructed to write erotic narratives at least twice weekly (n=30), or a control group (n = 30), instructed to write a narrative about dining with friends" pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41996557/ 😳

I have just finished reading The Technology of Teaching by Skinner it confirmed two ideas for me.
First, the image of Skinner as an ā€œevilā€ behaviorist is false. Reading him directly, I find a profoundly humanist thinker.
Second, he may be more useful than expected in our AI-powered era
Few takeaways

I'm excited to share our preprint: "Selfing without a self: The missing dimension of identification in computational accounts of selfhood"

The puzzle:

How can meditators claim persistent selfless experience without dysfunction when computational accounts claim it's maladaptive? 🧵

One was done by excellent institutions, the other by a deplorable populace thirsting for chaos, bored of prosperity wanting to burn down those institutions.

A lot of our education on writing well focuses on logic, clarity, and argument. AI will force us to think more about style. The boredom that comes from everything on the internet reading Claude-y now, no matter how good the substance is, should make us appreciate (and make us want to develop) style.

a man hearing of a powerful healer went mad so as to be healed by him. the healer turned him away but the madness persisted. eventually the healer said you are not mad, you just want to be around me. bring your wife and I will teach her to heal and you can scribe it down.
