Wrote about something I like to call the "40/30/30 rule" for AI dev tools.
I divide the choice of tools into 3 buckets think it's completely normal to use all the 3 types... in the same day!!

I write a newsletter that some of you might find interesting. It's a great way to be in the "inner circle".
Let's hang here -

But growth often means stepping outside your comfort zone and running toward the next challenge. Thatβs exactly what Iβm doing next.
Iβll share more about that soon β but until then, itβs been real, Airfam β€οΈ
Anyone working in this space knows how transformative the last few years have been, and Iβm proud to have been right in the middle of it. It truly was a fantastic setup β what some might call βa dream job.β
The past couple of years stand out the most β helping lay the foundation for what it means to be an AI-first engineering organization. We were early, but we were right.
Iβve had the privilege of introducing and evangelizing technologies that directly shaped how Airbnb engineers build β from championing Jetpack Compose to introducing Generative AI inside everyday developer workflows.
..and made lifelong friends along the way. Itβs been action-packed β and Iβve felt an incredible symmetry between the energy I poured in and what I got back.
My role has been particularly special: operating at the intersection of Code, Design, and AI has been a dream come true.
My time here has been nothing short of transformative, both professionally and personally. I experienced a pandemic while working at a travel company, witnessed a wildly successful IPO, open-sourced a meaningful project, landed on a Google I/O keynote, transitioned roles, gave countless tech talks..
After six incredible years, Iβve closed the curtains on my chapter at Airbnb.
Iβve had the privilege of working on things Iβm deeply passionate about, earning immense trust, and collaborating with some of the most talented people Iβve met. That combination is rare β and I never took it for granted.
I love reading Dispatch to keep up with the Android ecosystem. Check it out - www.jetpackcompose.app/newsletter
The next issue of Dispatch goes out tomorrow! There's a bunch of interesting content, but the one that you don't want to miss is a behind-the-scenes look at the team behind Firebender that many use on the daily!!

Want to give a quick shoutout out all the supporters of @jetpackcomposeapp.bsky.social over the years. Open-source and free-only projects can often be thankless but your kindness has given me the extra boost to keep it going ππ»

Thank you for the shout-out ππ»
π Debugging animation jank in Compose? 90% of devs miss THIS ADB trick (and it changes everything for your performance workflow) π
Use this command:
`adb shell screenrecord --bugreport`
It records your app WITH frame-timing overlays. Itβs like a slow-mo referee for your UI. π΅οΈββοΈ

In a recent issue of our newsletter, Evelin Herrera covered the hidden world of how Android apps get sold. She covered things that get rarely spoken about, including the exact apps buyers are looking for!

Moreover, every developer eventually realizes that the way you become a better engineer is by tying thing back to the business and the user.
A fantastic way of doing that is by actually running a business and using apps as a means to do that is the path of least resistance.
This kind of content is rarely discussed when it comes to Android Development so we are excited about being able to bring it to you!
We want the business side of apps to be a bigger part of the conversation because without it, our ecosystem just cannot exist.
The latest issue of Dispatch goes out tomorrow. This one is going to be extra special because it features Evelin Herrera, who's going to cover the hidden world of how apps get sold. We'll cover things that get rarely spoken about, including the exact apps buyers are looking for!

The latest issue of Dispatch goes out in an hour! It's a special issue because it features someone that has spent the last ~10 years working on screenshot testing infra and is the founder of @screenshotbot.bsky.social

The latest issue of Dispatch is going to be the Google I/O special. I give a behind-the-scenes look and cover all the updates that are interesting and relevant to you as an #AndroidDev.

While Microsoft made some 4d chess moves over the last few years and certainly made them "dance", their dependency on others for the model chops is a big risk.
This is where Google can really shine. They have complete control over their fate, unlike any other player.
They are truly vertically integrated and it needed to execute at the same pace as the startups around it. Their hand got forced but I think it was for the better.
Nothing like a good ol existential risk.
Google is executing and things are working. A lot of the current AI ecosystem exists due to Google. This is not just from a technological standpoint but also the AI talent that it fostered over the years.
I've been around the Google ecosystem for ~15 years. I've also had the fortunate of attending Google I/O a few times over the years. Trust me when I say this.....
Yesterday's #GoogleIO event was different.
