Had to show some UConn pride with a few friends at the Connecticut Delegation Reception. Go Huskies!

1.2 million Americans have lost health coverage under Trump Administration policies, and millions more are expected to lose coverage thanks to the One Big Ugly Bill.
Slashing health insurance does not make America stronger or healthier.
On Saturday, the Navy and Groton shipbuilders will celebrate the commissioning of the USS Idaho, the 26th Virginia-class submarine. The men and women of the Groton shipyard are once again demonstrating that Groton is still and always will be the Submarine Capital of the World.
President Trump’s threat that “a whole civilization will die tonight” would punish innocent civilians who are victims of Iran’s brutal regime.
Speaker Mike Johnson must bring the House back immediately to end this war by passing the War Powers Resolution, which I cosponsored five weeks ago.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! There’s no better place in Connecticut to celebrate than at home in CT-02, Connecticut’s most Irish Congressional District.
I hope that everyone can spend some time with family and friends to celebrate the holiday. Go n-eirí an t-ádh leat!
Obviously, the strategic and economic disruption created by the war in Iran weighs heavily, nonetheless, their allegiance to NATO endures.
We discussed the critical importance of the alliance and common issues around industrial base capacity. CT National Guard Adjutant General Francis Evon and CT Military Affairs Commissioner Bob Ross briefed the group on our state’s oversized role in the U.S. defense industrial base.
Under the leadership of CEO Megan Torrey, the CT World Affairs Council in Hartford yesterday hosted an impressive delegation of NATO military leaders from Germany, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, and Slovakia.
Bike & pedestrian infrastructure in Storrs is urgently needed for the safety of town residents & UConn students.
I worked with Mansfield to secure $1.9M in federal Community Project funds for Phase II of the bike & pedestrian connectivity project on Storrs Rd between Middle Tpke & Tower Loop Rd.
Just weeks ago, the Dep. of Defense explicitly downgraded the threat that Iran posed. Now, President Trump, with little or no explanation, has launched a war of choice against Iran, six servicemembers have been killed, & there is no clear endgame. This is not what the American people signed up for.
I voted for a war powers resolution against President Trump’s war in Iran.
After the dissatisfying brief from Trump officials to Congress last night, I am even more determined to vote for the war powers resolution to avoid another "endless war."
I’m sending my deepest condolences to the families of the six U.S. servicemembers killed in Kuwait, who were diligently performing their duties for their country. Their sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
My full statement on President Trump's attack on Iran.
2/Lee's story is a painful example of the affordability crisis that is being exacerbated by President Trump's policies, and her coming to Washington sends a clear message that the President & Congress cannot ignore skyrocketing costs.
1/I’m grateful to host Mystic’s Lee Burdette Williams as my guest for the State of the Union. Lee & her wife are paying over 300% more per month in health care costs because President Trump blocked bipartisan efforts to extend health care tax credits.
Today marks four years since Russia launched its full-scale, unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. For four years, the people of Ukraine have bravely defended their homeland. The U.S. must stand by our partners – not throw them under the bus by rewarding Putin for his vicious attack.
Ramadan Mubarak to eastern Connecticut’s Muslim community! I’m wishing you a peaceful and fulfilling holy month filled with family and friends.
You may have heard of the "SAVE Act." It's pitched as an election integrity bill. In reality, it's an unconstitutional intrusion by the federal government into state government’s designated role to conduct elections. It’s all part of Trump's agenda to "nationalize" elections. I will be voting NO.
The housing crisis is driving up costs & cutting people out of home ownership. The number one way to fix this is to build more homes.
The House just passed a bipartisan package of bills to generate new housing construction, prevent homelessness, & bring the dream of homeownership back within reach.
2/Thank you to the local and state emergency services and police for their response this morning and continued work on the scene to ensure public safety.
I'm continuing to monitor the situation. Please watch for updates from local and state officials and follow their guidance.
1/I'm relieved that no one was injured in this morning's train derailment in Mansfield, and that there are so far no detected flammable leaks from the train cars.
My office and I are closely tracking the train derailment in Mansfield. Please avoid the area and follow guidance from local officials while assessment of the area is underway.

I voted to pass a funding bill that provides full-year funding for 70% of the government except for DHS. In the next 10 days, an attempt will be made to put reforms in place to stop ICE’s lawlessness. I have not & will not support a full-year DHS funding bill without reforms in law to rein in ICE.
Congratulations to a new class of Groton shipbuilders!
Last night, we celebrated 38 graduates of EB’s federally approved apprenticeship programs. With over 3,000 job openings at the Groton shipyard right now, these men & women have met the call to skill-up for long term shipbuilding careers.
The cost of health insurance has exploded for millions of Americans in 2026. A bipartisan coalition in the House successfully passed an extension of ACA tax credits to bring these costs down. There is no excuse for the Senate not to follow suit.
3/Secretary Noem’s so-called “administrative warrant” authorizing DHS agents to enter private homes is flagrantly and brazenly unconstitutional. She is unfit for the powerful position she holds.
2/Momentum is picking up as events in Minnesota have continued to deteriorate because of Secretary Noem's reckless actions and incendiary comments that are escalating tensions and putting the public and local law enforcement at serious risk of harm.
1/My office has received numerous inquiries regarding Congresswoman Robin Kelly’s bill to start impeachment proceedings against Kristi Noem. As this list released today from Rep. Kelly’s office confirms, I am a cosponsor of this bill along with 139 other members.
The American Nurses Association, the largest nurse professional organization in the US, declared a simple truth – Alex Pretti’s service as an ICU nurse at the VA with a spotless record deserves a neutral professional investigation of his killing, not a cover-up.
