Making the conscious choice to get the metro into work today because I'm wanting to walk more places

I am not enjoying the earlier time to get out of bed, but I'm hoping I'll prefer it over the morning traffic at rush hour.

I've nearly given myself heat stroke today but I've finally finished moving half a ton of top soil into the hole where the old pond was!

I thought gardening was an elderly hobby this garden is meant to be low maintenance and it still forces me to work out every time I go near it.

Getting home full of plans to do things around the house: immediately accosted by the cat who needs a warm lap to purr on for a bit ❤️

Today is a "human guards me while I eat" kind of day instead of "human needs to vanish from existence"

Nothing says "I am loved" more than the cat meowing at you to get out of the kitchen so she can have her lunch in peace.

I'm obviously ruining the vibe

Chaos on London transport when my excitement to see a friend in person overrides my ability to read signs properly #adventuresandADHD

Turns out turning an old pond into a flower patch is hard work. There are so many stones to dig out from the soil and weeds (with roots!) to remove. How is gardening seen as an older person's hobby?

If you look at the bedding itself it looks like I've done nothing mind 🥲 am proud of myself for stopping before I over exerted and would spend the rest of weekend feeling like I'd been hit by a truck though!

Finally getting around to doing more spring tidy up for the garden. Taking a break and realised I've got lots of little ADHD piles of weeds lying about.

I'm realising I've got no idea what I'm going to do with myself when I'm finished with all the house redecorating that's taking up my weekends

About five minutes ago I shut Lulu in her room in preparation for my uncles coming over (she hates men and one has allergies). She's literally just wandered past me like some cat shaped Houdini.

The house is once again in chaos, at this point in starting to realise it's the sign of when I've got a week off.

New boots to work today! They're green suede and look fantastic and oh boy did I make a mistake with how comfortable they'd be to walk in

Now that it's spring, I'm feeling so much more motivated to go and do the things everyone else starts and gives up on in January. So it's pilates before walking to the station for work instead of using the car, and I've even brought my gym bag - just in case!

Honestly sometimes I just feel like a slave to whims and it can be really frustrating.

Add in time blindness, lack of object permeance and literally anything else going on, it honestly can feel like a miracle I manage to get anything done. I remain thankful to have grown up in an age of direct debits so I've never had to pay my bills manually.

One of the harder things about having ADHD is how impossible it can feel to start something - even when I'm taking my medication. The smallest barrier can feel like a cliff face and no matter how well you plan in advance, guessing how long it'll take to complete feels like a crapshoot.

An absolute yapper who isn't allowed to jump until the vet signs her off (hopefully on Wednesday!).

My cat Lulu has been imprisoned in her cat crate for 11 days now following intense surgery, and I can tell she's feeling much better because I can hear her chuntering on to herself from where she is in the living room, to upstairs in my office where I'm working from home.

"As a knight," the king said, "it is your duty to kill dragons."

"Very well, my liege," the knight said. "Um. May I ask why?"

"Because they hoard wealth without sharing, and people live in fear of their capricious moods."

"Very well, my liege," the knight said and drew his sword.

Came to post about how rearranging furniture in my office makes me feel like its had a mini redecoration, immediately discover Musk is making fascist salutes at the US inauguration rally.

Whelp.

The experience itself is about the feelings it brings about, the bodily sensations and senses it invokes. For the technical, finer details, I can always look that bit up afterwards to make sure I've got it right. Especially if it's something I've done once and my character is an expert!

Love that tea cup - is it new?

I do feel that the only ethical way to resolve this is to ensure social care and vets are free at point of access too. But, given the world we're living in, I can't help but feel that given the opportunity we'll end up swinging the other way and paying more for human healthcare too.

I love the NHS, but I do think it leaves us unprepared for the cost of related areas in our lives.

In an ideal world, we'd have Pet NHS and Adult Social Care free at the point of access too. Right now it catches so many people out and absolutely wrecks folks lives because we're not prepared for it.

But when I was googling something around my insurance reimbursement process, Google showed me that a popular related search is "UK Cat NHS".

Not everyone is in the same financial boat as I am and the thought of cost being something I may have also had to worry about made me tremendously sad

So far it's cost around 1.7k (£). That's for bloods, x-rays, the surgery itself, fluids, painkillers, prescription and all the other bits she had with them.

I've got great insurance and frankly am in the enviable position of being able to pay it up front and claim it back without issue.
