Doctors say that measles is one of the deadliest and most contagious infectious diseases in the world. A guy who snorts cocaine off toilet seats and cuts penises off raccons says you'll be fine if you drink raw milk and bathe in raw sewage. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

1) Largest action on climate in history (of any country, anywhere)
2) MASSIVE investments in green and sustainable energy
3) Biggest support of unions and working people in history (first President to ever walk a picket line with striking workers)
4) Over $150 Billion in student loan foregiveness
5) Massive increase of protections for public lands and natural preserves
6) Worked with Congress to codify same-sex marriage rights
7) Massive expansion of healthcare subsidies and implemented a cap of $35 on insulin. Tens of millions more got access to affordable healthcare on his watch.
If you don’t understand that support is manufactured via talk radio, TV, social media and all of the vectors of communication are overwhelmingly owned by the right, you’re missing the biggest part of the story. Biden took brave chances and did deliverance politics and the electorate didn’t care!
it's especially jarring if you're somebody who grew up poor and has had to spend 25 years scrapping for every shred of money and attention you can get as an actual tech subject matter expert
or are married to a poet who has to beg people to buy a book or two over the din of the espresso machine

I'll never get over how easy it was for Scott Galloway to just go out and purchase a role as a tech and masculinity expert
now he's everywhere, constantly, and you couldn't avoid him if you wanted to

it's just how wild how all pervasive it is. When corporate media decides that you're suddenly relevant, it's like every door in the world opens to you. It's really evident to those of us that have had to claw for every scrap of attention for our work
It started right after he and Kara got together and I was like oh hell no. It was like this weird mutual love fest…bizarre. Then not long after came this masculinity expertise. Blech.
When he and Kara just saturated everything, I was like nah.
I'm tired of shitty weasels telling me what masculinity looks like. From my perspective, they're effete chodes.
Because he has wealth but also because he's basically servicing the system and the ultra wealthy by mainstreaming the right wing panic about masculinity but just couched in "but what about the children?" type parent baiting. It is ALL about the perceived loss of male power to dominate and exploit.
there are so many ACTUAL experts who would love to be elevated and platformed and have a lot to say, I find it very annoying

It's because there's a surplus of undesirable men dragging down net human happiness.

That you think a 61 year-old guy who lives in London, who’s worth over $50 million, married to a Polish real estate developer ~20 yrs his jr, is in touch with the American Masculinity Zeitgeist is truly a cringeworthy take.
Lemme guess: you’re a David Brooks fan too, right?
60-something multi-millionaire, married to his second "trophy" wife who is 2-decades younger than him, lecturing us about why men under 30 are single.
hmmmm......
Modern masculinity influencer is some weapon’s grade cringe.
Today I wrote about why you should vote for Democrats and that is not in fact an abdication of your political agency
This is not a commercial transaction, it’s a choice between two very different governing parties! And again, you can’t just assume that adopting your position will be a net-positive for the candidate.
If your stance is “my position is morally right so candidates should adopt it even if it costs them votes,” that requires actual persuasion, not blackmail.

Millions!
The party meets its market by choosing the candidate in the primary. If the nominee doesn't agree with your positions it means there was no market majority for your positions. Now it's your choice: do you vote for the party of governance or do you withhold the vote & enable the party of corruption?
The idea of threatening to withhold the vote is based on a false premise, and the point of pointing it out is to correct the error. Seems like having accurate understandings of things is good. Feels like the other party has done poorly by simply living in a bath of falsehoods
If you don't do everything in your power to ensure the worst candidate loses you are also not doing your job as a citizen
The threats not to vote in the general after the candidate has been nominated is the means of enabling the victory of the second party, the party of the personality cult and corruption. Nothing more.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about this and how the idea that things would be equally bad with Harris is catastrophically wrong. There are real people who are dead that would be alive today had Harris won. And no, the reverse is not true.
