Ever since Apple introduced the M1 they've been running circles around the competition in terms of performance per watt. Great to see it actually become affordable as well.

Wait... that was LAST YEAR?
I do want to recommend you give crews a go. All the games I've had with randoms that were using voice have been very pleasant. (On console, not sure about PC.) And it's really a much more fun way to play the game.
I guess what I wanna say is that it I understand you're disappointed, but I never expected solo to be anything but an afterthought, so I think there was some copium in play here.
Fwiw, solos isn't even an "official" mode. It's just that if you turn Crew Fill off, you're matchmade with other players that also have Crew Fill off.
There is also not a single Codex entry specific to solo. There are Rook-specific Codex entries though.
This is probably because I've been very tuned in since this game was announced, but I always had the idea that solos was an afterthought they threw in after players begged for it after the first alpha a year ago (which didn't have solos).
Also, Rook has never been available with solos.
This game is made and balanced to be played with crews of three. I understand you really want a solo experience, without crew fill, but if they balanced for that it would make the game a lesser experience for the rest of us.
A game for everyone is a game for no one...
This all just distracts from the real issue: publicly traded companies in the US need to be held more accountable, and need to be subject to restrictions and worker's rights.
Attacking Sam Altman personally just works in their favor, because they can act like they're the victim in this whole story.
None of those acts are unique to OpenAI / Sam Altman.
Those acts of huge enterprises which have all grown way beyond the control of their CEOs. These companies have become uncontrollable cancers, fed by the dysfunctional US capitalistic system.
The solution is not to go witch-hunt a single CEO.
I wouldn't say "sus", but definitely out of touch.
Would be nice if Destiny 2 actually had a photo mode, or at least some convenient way to remove the weapon from view.
Great, let's waste even more resources on yet another LLM that may or may not be marginally better than the ten other top tier models.
Tell me you've never read Dune Messiah without telling me you've never read Dune Messiah.
Finally a Prox Chat Toggle! My hands thank you.
A relatively tiny moon though. ๐
Dedicated servers baby! ๐
"I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain."
Best thing I did recently was delete my Xitter profile.
Would make a great statement to your fellow content creators if you did the same.
Wait, already!?
It would be nice if the prox chat button on console could be a toggle, rather than a hold. Holding d-pad right to prox. chat while trying to move is awkward to say the least. ๐
Take your time to absorb this. I'm not some Bungie shill, I just want to explain how these things works, and this thread is built on 20 years of dev/Linux/Wine experience and some additional research I've done right now just to make sure what I'm saying is accurate. Please don't make light of that.
The only mention of kernel-level anti-cheat on the ProtonDB page you linked earlier actually is by "Citizen #839X" which claims "Budgie doesn't want to comply on Linux kernel security" [sic]. But, as I said, kernel-level BattlEye on Linux simply doesn't exist...
www.protondb.com/app/1085660#...
Proton/Wine doesn't load the Windows kernel, it only provides a compatibility layer on top of the Linux kernel, so there is simply no way to provide any form of kernel-level support for BattlEye.
Which is why Rust devs said "if a game supports Proton or Linux, they're not serious about anti-cheat,"
> And it can run kernel level, they choose not to. As posted above in the proton link
So I did some additional research, and BattlEye currently doesn't provide any form of kernel-level anti-cheat on Linux. Only on Windows.
> Third they state they're working on a solution for a full version, it being "incompatible" just means work arounds
What they're saying is they have been working to provide Proton compatibility for _user-space_ anti-cheat.
The problem it is impossible to support kernel-level anti-cheat on linux.
> Second they literally posted the work around
Could you please point out to me where you they explicitly posted a workaround for kernel-space BattlEye? The link I provided contains some workarounds for Easy Anti-Cheat, but not for BattlEye.
> First that's for steam deck. Not for bungie, or destiny/marathon
It's for Steam Deck and Proton. If Proton (and by extension, Wine) doesn't support kernel-space anti-cheat, then it doesn't support it for Destiny 2 or Marathon either.
First of all, with "(legal) obligations" I mean that the FTC requires that games work properly for consumers. If Bungie decides to enable an unsupported third party feature, they would need to thoroughly test it themselves and be able to fix issues, otherwise they risk refunds or even lawsuits.
*deep breath*
Okay, we're escalating here, which doesn't help anyone. I assume that you've never been involved with the development of a large game or software product like this, so I'll take a step back and be more patient. Sorry for my wording earlier.
The reason I continue commenting here is just because I'm a dev and a can't stand people that have no clue what they're talking about spouting bs.
Again, it's never as easy as "just turning on the option".
