There are infinite ways for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth to immerse themselves in the lore. In the weeks following The Brandywine Festival, avid gamers gratefully found another opportunity, provided by our good friends at Asmodee, who magically conjured a bit of Middle-earth at PAX U.
For four days from dawn til dusk, and long into the night, more than a thousand joyous Hobbits, a few adventurous Dwarves, Elves, and wandering Rangers, arrived from distant lands.

On 29 March 1939: #Tolkien finishes a course at the Government Code and Cipher School (GC&CS, now known as GCHQ. It moved to Bletchley Park in August). He agreed to provide his services on cryptography, but he was never called on.
