We need a website where everyone who is impacted by the DOGE cuts and Trump policies can tell their stories. Should have video testimonials, and be broadly circulated and publicized. Maybe y’all can make this!
The attack on DEI shows why liberals should stop arguing about "strategic" use of language forever. DEI stands for three uncontroversial virtues that most every American accepts, and the right still turned it into a vile slur. It doesn't matter what you say - they will poison it because YOU said it.
“After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay and lesbian and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and minorities. Once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends… what comes next?” - Gov. JB Pritzker
Does “Golden Age” refer to a time when planes keep crashing, eggs cost $10–15 a dozen, the U.S. is being booed and protested by all our allies, workers are losing their jobs, and Americans’ personal data is being rummaged through by unelected oligarchs and their strange crew of 20-something incels?
Honestly this was so predictable I can’t believe people thought anything else was going to happen.
It is baffling that this wasn’t the understanding from day 1
Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):
1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*
2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything
3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can
4. Citizens march en mass
Incredibly disappointing
As a rape survivor, the very thought of having a sexual abusing Commander-in-Chief and a sexual abusing Secretary of Defense makes me want to throw up.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent this internal memo to diplomats about Trump’s executive orders seeking to end DEI [lists a bunch of terms and actual executive orders they're against]
Marco Rubio's anti-DEI memo is aligned: note that it's hostile to "the national plan to end gender-based violence."
Sure, sure, this seems fine
I'm appreciate of the faith leaders who are speaking truth to power right now. Maybe a revival of progressive Christianity is part of what we need in these dark times. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/22/u...
100%
Agree with this 100%. The right clearly doesn’t care about sexual assault allegations, in fact seems to celebrate them.
So the Dems are aligned in using the Hegspeth allegations to oppose him. Dumb.
The man is not qualified for the job. That is all that matters. He has never managed more than 100 people. He won't be the actual one running DOD because he has no clue how.
And this is what the Dems focus on ?
Cover of ‘Solidarity’. On a sky blue background, a murmuration of starlings whirls in a figure eight. Two more prominent birds fly among them, maybe symbolic of how solidarity is a value that reconciles the needs of both the individual & the collective
Just finished reading; Solidarity, by @astra.bsky.social & @lhh.bsky.social This is a really important book, and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s about politics and the history of an idea, but it’s a super easy read, and the clear prose lets the clear thinking shine through.
This is their goal. Privatize everything.
And by “privatize” we mean steer billions to themselves and their friends, ending programs that serve those with the least under the guise of “efficiency”.
Rural areas will suffer. Prices will rise.

Land doesn’t vote. Stop pretending it does.
I think we’re all aware racism and sexism are at the heart of Trump’s success. But I don’t see how that’s constructive. The article also doesn’t address economic status as relative rather than absolute. Creating more economic security is something we can do something about.
BREAKING: SEGA workers in California have voted 91-26 in favor of unionizing.
They span multiple SEGA of America departments, making them the first multi-departmental union at a video game company in U.S. history.

At a Take Back the House event with Reps Pat Ryan and Marie Gluesenkamp. Really good answers on not falling for the “culture wars” (Angie Craig’s answers not great)
Hi Ken!
a pic of me holding a pillow with a bar chart of the City of LA’s various departmental budgets. the title of the bar chart reads “Mayor Garcetti’s Proposed Budget”
In May 2020, I was curious what the City of LA’s budget would look like as a bar chart, so I made this using Excel.
Now I get paid to make charts and graphics as the Chief of Staff for the LA City Controller. Hi, Bluesky!
Tank Twitter! I’m so excited to be out of Elon’s orbit.
This seems right.
