When they finally accepted that I'm not agreeing to another contract, they just hung up. No "goodbye" or "thanks anyway"

This is customer service, supposedly.

Just took a call from Eir, who were "delighted" to tell me that they are fleecing me for broadband, but if I agree to lock into another contract they can see what they can do to charge me a bit less, including getting me to subscribe to additional services so "I can save on paying other providers".

Frustrating is right. As if you hadn't enough to be doing

Ah you're joking.... Don't they watch/read/listen to (select your preferred medium) the news at all? How could anyone be unaware that their president imposed these ridiculous tarriffs? Or did they truly believe that someone else would be paying but not themselves?

Hi Tara, he looks worse than he is - his face is partially shaved and he has a few stitches so he looks like he's an extra in a low budget gangster film. He's figured out how to switch on a very sad face to get maximum sympathy from everyone. A few days and he'll be right as rain again
