Biological sex is not a static reality. Scholars have spent decades pointing out how assuming a sex binary is not only wrong but also unethical as it erases the lives of those who are embodied differently. Courts should not give effect to “common sense” when such sense is unethical and unscientific.

The protest was to challenge a court judgement that had ruled trans women were men, and propelled legal recognition of sex & gender affirmation. We’re now fighting to maintain and extend those rights

If you wanna show solidarity, follow & support the @transjusticeau.bsky.social

It’s trans day of visibility. We are perhaps more visible than ever before - including in the crosshairs of reaction. Inspired always by the past, here’s an image from Australia’s first ever know. public trans political protest in 1982

ARC project in diversity in Australian news media Conduct research on diversity in Australian news media, focusing on marginalised workers, including Indigenous, LGBTIQA+ and disabled workers.

Our team is recruiting a PhD scholar for our ARC Discovery research project on news media and diversity, focusing on experiences of marginalised workers, including Indigenous, LGBTIQA+ and disabled individuals.

Rather timely -- in ways we hoped it wouldn't be!
