Seems like ARPA-H STOMP's mission is important: '"What if we could detect, understand the health impacts of, and remove toxic microplastics from the body?"

You're right that age-related diseases are projected to increase dramatically with an increasingly older population. That's why Congress has to protect and increase funding for geroscience research across NIA, NIH, and ARPA-H to make strides against age-related illnesses.
ARPA-H has announced a new program that aims to detect, understand the health impacts of, and remove microplastics from the body: arpa-h.gov/explore-fund...
Here's an example of a research paper that examines the question of increasing healthy life expectancy: www.nature.com/articles/s43...
For additional reading, there have been various papers on something called the "longevity dividend".
Flyer for the Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in Aging Research announcing “Translational Pilot Awards.” The flyer explains that the awards support translational studies using human biosamples or animal models relevant to age-related disease. It lists available cores (CRISPR Whole-Genome Screening, Genomic Sciences, Geroscience Redox Biology, and Multiplexing Protein Analysis), includes a link to apply, and notes funding amounts of $5,000–$20,000. It highlights that awards support early-stage and senior investigators starting aging or geroscience research. Key dates: submission deadline June 1, 2026, and funding period July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. A QR code is shown for more information.
The Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center Translational Pilot Awards open this Wednesday, April 1!

There is scant evidence to justify claims made by promoters behind the peptide craze. People should also know there are risks to taking these injections. Thankfully Nevada regulators helped hold some of these promoters accountable for violating state law:

@trahan.house.gov Your support for ARPA-H is commendable, and I urge you also to act to protect researchers supported by NIA grants. Even if Congress restores funding levels, research can be sabotaged by low grant approval rates. Your support for NIA research is urgently needed.
Thank you for your support of ARPA-H and for your participation in the Longevity Science Caucus. The PROSPR and FRONT programs in ARPA-H are especially inspiring and great examples of bold research within geroscience.
ARPA-H will “build the train tracks” for the first large clinical studies of aging interventions. https://scim.ag/4dcPEJj

🚨 The Human Ageing Genomic Resources Are at Risk
For over 20 years, our Human Ageing Genomic Resources (HAGR) have supported ageing and longevity research.
We are raising funds to secure their continuity while we pursue long-term funding.

@liccardo.house.gov Congratulations to Stanford University in your district! They are one of the awardees in the @arpa-h.bsky.social PROSPR program. This is an important development for the Longevity Science Caucus. Thanks for being a member and supporting geroscience.

Most of us don’t just want longer lives, but more years of good health. PROSPR awardees are spotting early signs that health is slipping, building systems for aging clinical trials & testing new drugs that could be the 1st gen drugs to extend healthy years. I wonder if the term "geroscience" would be better than "longevity." "Longevity" has been adopted by quacks and grifters and is also used in many different ways. "Geroscience" might be reserved for more narrow use of research on aging biology and associated clinical trials.
This is encouraging and shows why medical research targeting aging biology to impact age-related health decline is only growing in importance. Tyler Cowen, Richard Evans, and other economists recently helped produced this interactive on ROI of R&D in Geroscience: silverlinings.bio?chapter=abou...

Too true. HHS is the largest health organization in the world and should be headed by someone who adheres to science-based medicine rather than quackery and conspiracy-theory thinking.
PA indeed has an impressive biotech/pharma scene. There are high-profile startups/firms with a focus on age-related illness, like LyGenesis aiming for organ regeneration and Annovis Bio targeting neurodegeneration. Both are running clinical trials. Fostering these ecosystems is critically important.
Call on your house representatives to support a FY2026 budget bill that would preserve funding for NIH at the Senate Appropriations Committee approved level of $48.7B and adopt Senate language prohibiting a cap on indirect costs and limiting multi-year funded grants to levels consistent with FY2024
