I mean based on the inaccuracies and how it’s written I’d say yes, but the poster on Reddit denies that.

For one, Vanessa Alvarez did not vote no. It was a 9-0 vote.
This is so concerning to me because there are multiple inaccuracies in this post (I couldn’t bring myself to read the full recap, just this is enough to enrage me), but people read it and assume it’s fact. In order to have constructive conversations we have to be working with accurate information.
I don’t think that’s true. Social media companies have been fined by the FTC for violations of COPPA. (I have been working on understanding kids and privacy with respect to WPS because schools can consent for parents on the collection of data.)
What I’m saying is because of the federal law doesn’t social media already have to have a way to confirm kids are over 13?
Here’s what the FTC says:
My understanding is that tech companies have to ensure that they aren’t collecting data from kids without parental consent if they’re under 13. So they have to have a way to verify kids are 13 or older right? Or verify parental consent?
Doesnt COPPA already require age verification?
Current list of the WPS boundary realignment working group. Next meeting is April 7.
"Investing in modern [energy] infrastructure is not just an energy issue, it is an education imperative."
AG's thesis is that modernizing energy infrastructure improves student learning, which is sort of a weird take...feels like something someone working in energy infrastructure would write?
I make $100 from Worcester Sucks each month to write WPS in Brief, so it doesn’t impact my livelihood like so many other artists and writers. But it’s still disappointing to see something I’ve honed over years stolen. Don’t use AI, please. It sucks.
Those of you who read WPS in Brief might read this and think I wrote it. Similar format, tone, even rephrased my tag line “my goal is to help you feel informed without feeling overwhelmed.” It’s not me. My guess is the writer used AI, which scraped my work.
I am so thrilled that Worcester will have 7 elementary schools with a library special starting in the fall! Proud of the work of the Worcester Elementary School Library Coalition!

We could at least start with enforcing the 25mph speed limit. One of the reasons it’s challenging to turn left is because people are coming down at like 40mph.
I wish someone could have seen my face when I walked outside. It took me a good 20 seconds to figure out what was going on!
It was surreal to be outside and not have the sound match the movie 😂
Weird weather in Worcester, MA! Sounds like it’s raining, but not a cloud in the sky…beautiful and bizarre.
