Each word matters. But none stand alone. You can’t mobilize without organizing. You can’t legislate without electing the right leaders. You can’t advocate effectively without clear communication. And none of it matters if we lose sight of why we educate in the first place.

This year’s theme was Seven Words, One Movement. Seven words. Seven actions. Seven ways we show up for our students, our profession, and each other. The work we’ve done and the work ahead is built on these seven words: Mobilize. Communicate. Legislate. Educate. Litigate. Elect. Organize.
The 55th NSEA Delegate Assembly has adjourned Sine Die. Thank you to every delegate who traveled from across Nevada to help move our union, our profession, and our movement forward. The Assembly may be over. The movement isn’t.
Thank you to @nsea.bsky.social for inviting me to be the keynote speaker at your Delegate Assembly. As a former public school teacher, I’m fully committed to investing in our schools, educators, and students — now and as your next Governor.
We’d like to thank Attorney General @aarondfordnv.bsky.social for speaking to the NSEA delegates at our Delegate Assembly in Sparks, NV. AG Ford has demonstrated through both his record and lived experience that he’ll be the Governor to help deliver for Nevada’s students, educators, and families.
Another great headline for Governor Lombardo!
April is #NationalSchoolLibraryMonth, and it should go without saying that school libraries are crucial, indispensable places of learning.
Every school deserves a fully-staffed library—well-stocked with books that will change students' lives.
Three stylized figures, with one highlighted, are depicted above the text: "One in three teachers work more than one job." The logo of the National Education Association is at the top. The source mentioned is the Walton Family Foundation-Gallup Teaching for Tomorrow Study.
One job should be enough. Yet, 1 in 3 teachers has held a second job in the past year, according to a new study by @Gallup. Have you had to work an additional job while teaching?
We’re proud to celebrate transgender people who are part of every community, including the students we serve and the educators we stand alongside.

"Governor Lombardo has worked hard to turn Nevada into a top destination for professional sports franchises,” a spokesperson said.
Yeah, you've been laser-focused. We've noticed.
And Governor Joe Lombardo has stood by in full support of trump's wrecking ball to public education.
Trump’s chaos is hurting our economy, our schools, and our communities. And yet, Joe Lombardo says Trump is doing a good job…
Under Lombardo, budgets are tighter and districts are struggling. With these headlines, it’s clear he’s more focused on not offending trump than anything.
This morning, we joined @zachfornv.bsky.social as he filed for Nevada Attorney General. Zach has always defended our public schools and the people who make them work. He's been a good steward of public dollars and understands that protecting those dollars is essential to protecting public education.
From creative outdoor play to embracing the cold, the story highlights resilience, imagination, and the power of play. Thank you to @neasn.bsky.social President Jeremy Heckler for the invite!
President Dawn Etcheverry spent Read Across America Day with students JT McWilliams Elementary School. She read "Recess at 20 Below" by fellow NEA Member (now retired) Cindy Lou Aillaud, a fun and engaging book about how students in Alaska make the most of recess even in freezing temperatures.
For #ReadAcrossAmerica, let’s share stories that raise up the many voices that need to be amplified and heard. Let’s read books together to help kids discover their own voices and learn from the voices of others. Take the #NEADiverseBookChallenge. www.nea.org/diverse-book...

Two dollars isn’t serious. Nevada’s future is.
Seriously, pass the plan. #NVLeg
The Elko County School District Superintendent just discussed the $11M deficit his district is currently facing. One of their solutions: follow the recommendations from the Commission on School Funding
Seriously, Pass The Plan. #NVLeg #Seriously
These cuts translate into larger class sizes, staffing reductions, school consolidations, service cuts, and fewer opportunities for students. Flat funding also makes it nearly impossible to bargain for educator raises, which tops our survey’s list of possible uses for education funds.
This morning, NSEA spoke at the Interim Education Committee to deliver one message: Seriously, Pass The Plan #NVLeg
Because education funding was effectively kept flat last session, with just a two-dollar per-pupil increase, districts across Nevada are struggling with millions in deficits.

On Capitol Hill today, NSEA met with our federal delegation to defend public education and protect students. We opposed dismantling the Department of Education and raised concerns about ICE and DHS actions impacting our schools. Accountability, civil rights, and student safety must come first.
“It's the unknown that causes all the anxiety. I implore the district to be transparent about these things and about what they're asking from our administrators and why we're spending the money that we're spending this way.” Heckler said.
