Ty! The idea is not to make a 4K texture pack with unbelievable textures but recreate the game how a player would remember it rather than how it was played.
I reconstruct and sharpen all the original details by hand respecting the original artwork.This one needs work in places but it's nearly done!

I think it stays very true to the original and tasteful, it's not meant to be objectively better.
The idea is just to recreate the game how I remember it, not how it was played.
Control and consistency is key, I preserve the important details colors, pixelation in some areas etc.

I stopped because I don't want my work confused with lazy slop remastering like this.
My work is hand done. Quite a lot of thought, time and skill goes into my process to make it stand out and an overwhelming amount of people love and support it.

This motivated me. I am back making hand made texture packs.
More and more I start to see this Gen AI/DLSS5 style slop and I can't just sit there and let it continue to be something on the menu. This is the RE "overhaul" pack that has been circulating lately.

There were large areas, bosses and story elements that were cut from the original. Puzzles are missing too.
It's good quality outside of having alot less content. Theres supposedly a mod that adds alot of content back now so its not as bad as it used to be.

AIs purpose in art is to do anything transformative that is mathematical (upscaling, color changing, lighting, etc.) and if it's not that then optional things that help the workflow (organization, naming layers, grouping common tools etc.)

I do my textures by hand out of preference but there's still skill and complexity involved in procedural that I have respect for.

When I do terrain by hand I am simulating something procedural.
Bob Ross landscapes are procedural if you think about it. You just go with the flow.
