The founding philosophy of the NHS is βCare according to need not ability to payβ.
It isnβt the weasel phrase polticians trot out - βFree at the point of useβ - in the full knowledge that are making you pay for more and more, from dentistry to prescriptions, optician services to audiologyβ¦

Personally think they should do it a year before the GE. They need more time to sort themselves out around a solid contender.

Exactly this.
A good point, and one I was guilty of.
The Labour party will continue after Starmer.
There is no public support for any form of Brexit.
Probably the impracticality of running as an independent. On a subject like water, the Greens seem like an obvious bed fellow, but not sure about other policy areas. Or maybe it's just playing the long game and seeing if the party changes direction. Not a fair weather politician. Can respect that.
I often get the impression his party has left him, I wonder if there will ever be a tipping point.
On Dirty Business (water industry)
Smartphones yes, bricks no.
Although both my girls have our old Smartphones and we're fine with that. We've put parental controls on, but tbh, they're pretty responsible.
Despicable
The BBC needs to be overhauled.
I'm disappointed by Starmer and Labour, but after the turmoil of the previous 5 PMs we need stability. We voted him in and there he should stay until the next GE. The electorate can remove him then if they want.
He hasn't sucked up to the USA. Given your profile name you're clearly here to criticise him regardless of context.
He isn't. He's well respected abroad (ignoring USA of course).
An important shift in perspective.
We often talk about security guarantees for Ukraine. But give Ukraine what it needs, and they will emerge as the most effective military powerhouse that modern Europe has ever known.
Ukraine will be Europe's security guarantee against Russian imperialism.
Depends on who the alternatives are for Foreign Secretary.
He's very well respected abroad, that's useful even if I have no plan to vote Labour again.
He's terrible at domestic politics. I'd rather have him as Foreign Secretary.
He also knows this is politics, not law.
First time I've seen the Bullshit Meter read zero!
American dominance is over.
But Russia won't be much better off, Europe is getting stronger
Life as a neighbour of the EU is a permanent negotiation whatever your relationship status. And you have to compete for attention with all of the others in the same position. Which is the reality more than saying the EU isn't interested but... what can you really offer?
I'm not happy with Starmer on a number of domestic matters, but I'm sick of the turmoil of the last 12 years. We voted him in, and there he stays until the electorate can choose to vote him out at the next GE if they want.
Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
5 years ago this same quote was being attributed to Navaho.
I'd be interested in it's actual providence. There's little online.
Scew the MSM, and screw Reform.
Agree, even though I have no current plan to vote Labour.
Stop with the turmoil, let Starmer have his term, kick him out at the end if you want. But we need stability. The grass isn't always greener...
