Research reevaluates the economic burden of dengue on Puerto Rico Research posits a new estimate for the economic burden placed on Puerto Rico by dengue fever, identifying a vast number of unreported cases.

Dengue isn’t just a health issue, it’s an economic one. Research by co-author Michael Johansson shows epidemic years can cost Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, over $1B (1% GDP)!
