I was so looking forward to playing this when they made the Remaster! And then the multiplayer in that version turned out so bad that no one I knew ended up gettting it, so neither did I because I wasn't interested in a solo play σ_σ
I'm slowly playing through the original Dragon Quest III. It's actually kinda chill and not as clunky as expected. Tho I do admit I'm abusing the speedup button quite a bit. And looking up the stats of weapons/armor online.
FFXIV Dawntrail (Main) fin. Liked the first half of being the side character to someone else's hero journey, after so many expansion of everyone constantly kissing the ground we walk on as the most special boy/girl/enby to ever walk Eorzia. Second half is a bit eh.
Just saw someone trying to sell Millennium Actress as an underrated gem nobody knows. And I once again implore people to look past their shonen slop bubble, preferably at what people over 20 that watch more than one genre know, before making such statements.
♫ two catbros chillin in a gondola five feet apart cause they are not gay ♫
Probably still Square's most curious release to me is when they made the Final Fantasy I.II bundle... for the Famicom... in 1994. Kinda wild, even if it was intended as some sort of limited premium package. Adorable cover, tho.
Wenn man die magische Grenze Taunus-/Gallusanlage überschreitet und vom Bahnhofsumfeld rauskommend den ersten Park sieht, und plötzlich ists doch alles nicht so schlimm.
Another pre-made game on Fromsoft's Adventure Player was an Echo Night. Taking the form of a static point'n click with non-aggressive ghosts, you go on the usual task to have the 13 ghosts on the ship move on. Fairly easy with exception of few odd invisible pixelhunt items (most are visibly placed)
Ich würde doch nie lügen. Es sei denn du widersprichst einer Kathegorie, dann ist die gelogen. Es sei denn es ist Golden sun, dann get fucked.
tried to not overthink the silly li'l list
It's called Adventure Player by the way, but obviously, after 21 years, the servers to up- and download creations from are down. It's actually not the only game maker Fromsoft had. There is also "Sword of Moonlight" to make your own King's Fields with.
Back on the PSP, Fromsoftware made a software to make your own Adventure Games and download other user's creations. But it also came with three small pre-made games. Like Kaikiken, a sound novel with three stories that take about 5 minutes each to read through.
Man, that sounds so much better on paper than in execution.
Also, happy birthday.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories fin. Climax's bold re-imagining of the first game. A bit shallow in gameplay, sure, but an interesting take on the original nontheless. And working perfeclty fine on Sony's little handheld that could.
The Japanese PS1 library is full of small, interesting, experimental games. Like Iblard: Laputa no Kaeru Machi, an adventure game where you explore areas based on pictures by artist Naohisa Inoue. Of course PS1-3D doesn't quite do them justice, but it's still a vibe.
I sometimes really wonder how people these days find and connect with each other over their interests. Search engines are useless, social media is scattered or only showcase influencer content, communities are behind closed doors you only get the key to if you already know they exist.
Oh my, Darling II: Backlash. Now that brings me back to the mid 2000s! Moreso to the first Darling game, which is an FMV one where you POV date a real guy, hahahaha.
Irgendwie muss man ja an Deadly Creatures kommen.
Casshern, Godzilla Final Wars, Spirited Away, Tokyo Gore Police, Big Bang Love Juvenile A, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Always Sunset on Third Street.
from Germany
Ich hat das tatsächlich damals auf der PS1. Hat mich so geflasht, dass schwache Gegner einem einfach ausm Weg gehen.
Everyone drop what you are doing and look at this adorable Japanese cover for Guardian's Crusade (known as Knight & Baby over there)
That's a shame. They did have vocation specific outfits in the 3DS remake.
As someone with the "but you could experience something new instead" nagging voice back in my head, I use RetroAchievements ony sporadically and as an excuse to trick myself into revisiting old favorites. You bet I have mastered all Clock Tower 1 sets on there, now that the WS also has one.
One of my top three "who's firstborn do I need to sacrifice to which deity to get a translation" game series.
Went back into Final Fantasy XIV, now on PS5, and didn't know that certain player preferences aren't stored server-side but on your console, making them default back. So I got greeted by a cluttered hotbar and went blind from all the healer's flashbanging skill animations during the first dungeon.
The end of an era.
I still remember being deeply involved in the German DQ-community thanks to the Dragon's Hoard back when DQX was first announced and released... 14 years ago on the Wii! What a different time and different internet that was.
Manche Tage mag ich Remake 2 etwas mehr.
Remake 1 bis Heute tagesabhängig mein liebster Teil.
