Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

My brother has to go back to the hospital because he is struggling to breathe and wheezing badly and I'm going to be left alone as a wheelchair user. We still need to continue raising money while my life somehow continues to get worse. More info below

Also does anyone know of anyone who can come today to DC to temporarily help me out? He's screaming in pain from the car falling on him and his dad won't be here until tomorrow

Serj Tankian chose to wear a mask while signing autographs at his new coffee venue Kavat Coffee earlier this week.

Protecting your health and the community around you is still relevant and still matters. Clean air and small precautions aren’t overreactions, they’re care in action.

Painted Into the Dreaming: New Thylacine and Tasmanian Devil Rock Art From Arnhem Land Freshly documented paintings at two Northern Territory sites raise questions about when these animals last walked the mainland — and why one mattered so much more than the other.

Newly recognised rock art from western Arnhem Land looks like it _might_ show a thylacine image less than 1000 years old... which is at odds with data indicating mainland extinction at c 3K www.anthropology.net/p/painted-in...

Hey everyone:

I'm getting kicked out of my home in 5 days but haven't secured housing yet. The price for a hotel is 115 a night. I am desperate to reach my goal so I can prevent homelessness and/or death.

We could easily feed 8-9 billion people with far less land, using less water, and with far lower greenhouse gas emissions.

When we talk about "regenerative agriculture", we need to broaden the discussion to include diet, biofuels, etc. Otherwise, we're missing the biggest opportunities for change.

In fact, less than half of the world's crop production is turned into useful calories.

The rest is used to feed animals (where less than 1/10 of the original crop's calories become available as meat or dairy products) or to produce wasteful biofuels.

I now have LESS than 2 weeks to reach my goal before I am homeless on the first. Extra money is needed because I found out my housing stipend doesn't kick in for 6 months and without it I can't afford accessible housing and will likely have nowhere to go.

However, back to the good news...

Because the UK are now purchasing it, it means that Sanofi may also become available on the private the UK market.

We hope that pharmacy giants like Boots, Avicenna and Pharmadoctor realise there is pent up demand.

Long-COVID Sufferer Awarded Nearly $1M After Employer Refused to Let Her Work From Home | Law.com A jury in Nassau County awarded $954,000 to a longtime employee of Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank.

A woman with Long Covid won almost one million dollars in a lawsuit against her employer who refused to allow her work from home accommodations.

May this set a precedent.

Remote work should be accessible to all who need it.

It’s a game changer for people with disabilities.

I’m about as far left as you can get… but we do have problems with MAiD in Canada.

How do I know? It was “offered” to me in lieu of care.

I’m disabled, I was alone, my conditions expensive.

Yes I was allowed to say “No”, but no alternative care was offered.

That’s coercion.

A Neanderthal time capsule from Grotta Guattari Excavations of a new chamber reveal an ancient floor with more than a dozen new Neanderthal fossil remains.

New excavations at the Grotta Guattari, just south of Rome, have yielded beautiful new Neanderthal fossils. They may add a lot to our knowledge of how Neanderthals maintained their populations as they fled the advance of the ice sheets.

Oldest cave painting could rewrite origins of human creativity A stencilled outline of a hand found on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi is the world's oldest known cave painting, researchers say.

Breaking news and congratulations to the team, Sulawesi preserves evidence for the oldest art yet recorded, and strengthens claims for the early colonisation of Australia. At 68k BP this art is almost 30k years earlier than the accepted record for Europe. Bravo🏺🦣🎨

Oooh good question for historians and archaeologists... what's the oldest thing you've accidentally been injured by?

I've cut myself with numerous flint flakes and implements ranging from 6000-3500 years old) - I'm sure someone can outdo that...

We honor the courage of Manuel Teran, known to fellow forest defenders as Tortuguita, who sacrificed all in defense of Weelaunee Forest three years ago today. 🖤

And we give thanks for those who responded to Tortuguita's murder with a wave of fierce direct action. 🏴

As daily goals, "stop fascism," "defeat evil," and "save the world" probably aren't going to get you anywhere, and might leave you feeling overwhelmed and helpless, but "work towards building something good" is always achievable, concrete, and useful.

A possible archaic human from Borneo The find of a single tooth from Gua Danang may be the first evidence of the archaic inhabitants of the island.

Within a cave used by bird nest traders, archaeologists uncover a single tooth from an ancient group: the first evidence from an extinct hominin on the world’s third largest island. What group lived there in the millennia before modern people arrived?

At Lomekwi 3 (Kenya), deliberately flaked stone tools dated to ~3.3 million years ago push toolmaking deep into early hominin evolution.
