The day before the final episode, which would have featured a girl committing a violent murder, a similar murder took place in real life (16-year-old girl murdered her father with an axe in Kyoto). The episode was cancelled and stock footage was played for 30 minutes in its place, featuring a boat. The boat, alongside a comment on an imageboard calling it a "nice boat", became a meme in Japan after the incident. Due to NSMBW releasing in 2009, it would have been in development at the time and it stands to reason that the developers could have been referencing the meme. game character is at the bottom of what looks like some stone steps, close to some trees. they are saying: this looks like a tree from far away, but it's just more of that computer generated crap. this comes from the point and click command 'look at the trees'. down the bottom of the screen is a face portrait of the character and the point and click commands: walk to, look at (highlighted), take, use, talk to, swallow, give, push. to the right of this is mostly blank boxes for inventory.
