We were toying with the idea of doing a surprise commission for a lower rate? It's a complete commission, maybe the commissioner can decide the colors or loosely define the subject matter (ex: a bird using violet and blue), but ultimately we get to design everything. Maybe something like that?

A mimic monster that looks like a roasted chicken leg. The 'bone' is a crocodile-like snout with the mimic's tongue lolling out. It has four tiny legs under its body, a little pointed tail, and an eyeball in the meat of the 'chicken leg'

I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

LLMs were sold to us as tools to 'do the thinking' for us. Like, they can't think, that's not how they work. But if we cede our thinking, writing, creating to genAI instead of our own minds...what on earth do you think happens to our brains?

Studies show using the autocomplete sloptron makes you give up more easily, communicate less efficiently, bulldozes your ability to trust/form your own opinions, makes your brain a sluggish potato, molds you into the most credulous, malleable pawn for fascists.

I can't even feel vindicated by all these AI-effects-on-the-brain studies. The observably obvious results just make me feel the exhaustion of screaming for like 3 years.

ANYWAY, there’s no way out of all of this that does not include—at MINIMUM—a general strike. The best time for it was 2020 - 2021 when they were still recognizing the pandemic and offering assistance. But that would have meant having solidarity with disabled people. So.

The second-best time is now.
