Tears in my eyes and screaming 'CORM COB PIPE'

We were toying with the idea of doing a surprise commission for a lower rate? It's a complete commission, maybe the commissioner can decide the colors or loosely define the subject matter (ex: a bird using violet and blue), but ultimately we get to design everything. Maybe something like that?

A mimic monster that looks like a roasted chicken leg. The 'bone' is a crocodile-like snout with the mimic's tongue lolling out. It has four tiny legs under its body, a little pointed tail, and an eyeball in the meat of the 'chicken leg'

A promotional image for a Sword&Key game. The background is black and indigo with cloud-like texture over it. All of the text is white and the title of the game is at the top. It is called The Indigo Nexus, an Invisible Sun Game. At the bottom of the image, the game info says it runs on Saturdays at 10am PST/1pm EST/7pm CET on twitch.tv/sword_and_key. The Sword&Key logo is in the corner.
In the center is the cast and character art of all the PCs.
From left to right there is:
- A young black woman with hair in space buns, wearing a periwinkle skirt with a scissor motif, long sleeved blouse, and holding a raven in her arms who she is looking lovingly at. They are played by Ventris (laventuredouble on BlueSky)
- A southeast asian person with shoulder length black hair with blue udnertones wearing a long sleeved white shirt that is half unbuttoned to show tattoos on their chest. There is a shawl off their shoulder floating in the wind. They are wearing a variety of bangles on their wrists and around their neck. They are played by Ian (iandepriest on BlueSky)
- Short dark haired person with horns over their head, wearing glasses, a maroon button down shirt and black vest. She has a cat on her shoulder that is staring directly at the viewer and there are sooth cards floating around them. This is the GM Mer (archmageofdice on BlueSky)
- A white individual in a plain flowy neutral shirt wearing horse blinders and a crown of flowers. Played by Trout (tricksywizard on BlueSky)
- A dapper but anxious looking man with strawberry blonde hair, red eyes, and pince-nez glasses with an ornate red button down and blue vest. Played by Asher (tickyhead on BlueSky)
- A confident looking man with long brown hair with a blonde streak and bronze skin. Wearing a white button down, blue vest, and buckle harness. There is a tortoiseshell cat on his shoulder. Played by Seth.

We hate to ask this. We know money's so tight for so many people, but we're waiting on some payments to come through, and rent is due today. If anyone has a little $$ to spare, it would be a huge help, and we'll be sure to pay it forward when we're back on our feet.

Page four and five:

1 - Pulled-out two page spread of a massive deciduous tree with a long branch extending toward the pine tree Weetrill noticed. There are multiple tiny Weetrills on this tree. He climbs the trunk, pauses on the top branch to gauge the distance to the pine tree, and makes a massive leap from the deciduous tree to the pine tree.

Narrator: A bauble for a start and then a quest in need of minding.

2- Top down shot of Weetrill climbing hand-over-hand through the thin needl-y pine branches

3 - Weetrill clings to one branch and stretches out his hand to try and grab the red berry

Narrator: And golden rare’s the morning when…

4- The branch Weetrill is holding for balance snaps in two.

1 - Weetrill is still dragging the locket through the dust, away from Plumkin, continuing his thoughts from the page before where he insisted he didn’t know what the locket was.

Weetrill: A Bauble, I suppose. I’m only dropping it off for Magpie.

2 - Weetrill is re-wrapping the locket chain around his shoulders. Plumkin stands behind him, pressing him with more questions.

Plumkin: Dontcha wanna keep it?

Weetrill: I have no interest in such things.

3 - Plumkin can’t believe what she’s hearing.

Plumkin: But what if it’s a quest?!

4 - Weetrill turns his back on Plumkin and looks haughtily down at her over his shoulder

Weetrill: I have even less interest in that.

5 - Weetrill stands with a finger in the air, like an instructor. The background is a chalkboard with diagrams indicating why quests are a bad idea.

Weetrill: Quests are for the Stout Folk, and Baubles for the distractable

1 - Magpie Witchbird casts a wry smile down at her sheepish visitor.

Magpie: Well met, Weetrill.

2 - Weetrill gazes up apprehensively at Magpie as she continues speaking from off-panel,

Magpie: Shrink’st not low in thy chair - thou hast my word I’ve grown not larger.

3 - A wide panel of Magpie’s nest. We see the Witchbird from behind as she addresses Weetrill, still seated in his teacup.

Magpie: ā€˜Tis many months now since last my door thou didst last darken.

4 - Weetrill dithers in his seat, avoiding eye contact.

Weetrill: Has it really been that long? My, but where does the time go?

5 - A profile shot of Magpie’s enormous antlered head pushing in close to Weetrill, who cringes into his teacup seat.

Magpie: Where INDEED, young one?

Weetrill: That’s impossible I– there must be some mistake! I’m too ordinary for a Destiny!

3 - Magpie summons a shape in starlight of Weetrill as a cub, curled up asleep, having been left at her doorstep

Magpie: Ordinary? Thou dost jape! Thy life is wreathed in riddles!

4 - Magpie scrutinizes Weetrill closely

Magpie: Mayhap thou hast seen such a shape before? Did once thou see its like in the time before thou didst come to our grove?

5 - Weetrill looks away, annoyed at the question

Weetrill: You know I don’t remember anything

6 - Magpie’s talon turns his face up to meet her eyes

Magpie: But try, young Weekin.

If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

LLMs were sold to us as tools to 'do the thinking' for us. Like, they can't think, that's not how they work. But if we cede our thinking, writing, creating to genAI instead of our own minds...what on earth do you think happens to our brains?

Studies show using the autocomplete sloptron makes you give up more easily, communicate less efficiently, bulldozes your ability to trust/form your own opinions, makes your brain a sluggish potato, molds you into the most credulous, malleable pawn for fascists.

ANYWAY, there’s no way out of all of this that does not include—at MINIMUM—a general strike. The best time for it was 2020 - 2021 when they were still recognizing the pandemic and offering assistance. But that would have meant having solidarity with disabled people. So.

The second-best time is now.
