A digital illustration in simple outlines and flat textured color. A man with a white mustache wearing a sun hat is pushing an ice cream cart with bells hanging from the handle. Along with pictures of popsicles, text on the side and front of the cart reads ‘Maybe it’ll happen today’

It really is bonkers. Hit 25C here around Thursday. Might make 30C on Wednesday. Got dusted with snow overnight Saturday into Sunday.

This is what climate change is doing to us.

A digital illustration done in simple contour lines and rough pencil coloring on neutral tinted paper background of a woman reclining on a surface in a faint. Seen from a foreshortened angle from her knees and feet. She’s laying on one hip with her torso twisting to supine. The back of one hand lays across her forehead and the other is held limply on her ribs. Her head is back and her red curls spread out on the ground around her. She’s wearing a white, voluminous and old fashioned night dress. Orange lettering in an Art Nouveau style to the right reads ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

I'm just

So

Tired.

The thought of having to go back to looking at job postings and applying to even more jobs...

I've applied so many places... I'm going to have to start applying to jobs I know I'd be miserable at just to get a paycheck.

Except that they probably won't even hire me either.

Friday my recruiter said they'd reach out. I've heard nothing.

Now I'm bracing for hearing yet another "no".

This is probably the fourth job I've interviewed for and been really really excited about getting. Places I've thought I'd be happy to work at for a decade or so and then retire.

Kind of dreading tomorrow.

Largely took the weekend off of job hunting. Partly because I had an interview Wednesday for a place I'd LOVE to work. Practically perfect for my current stage of life.

They were allegedly meeting Thursday to figure out who to move on to the next stage.

You know the only reason anyone would watch a race with these things is to see them crash.

Like NASCAR.

It is stupid but there's logic. HR has to make the manager bitch at the employee to remind the manager to not intimidate employees to shorten their breaks to avoid the employee suing because they didn't get their proper breaks.

Three percent, I bet. I've has high performers that I wanted to give raises to because I was worried they were job hunting.

"Sure. You can give them up to 3 percent."

That's like 50 cents an hour. I haven't been excited about that sort of raise in 20 years.

Not that I've received more since.

I mean...

The Monte Cristo is basically a heart attack on a plate.

I still get Reubens all the time. You just need to find an Irish pub or a good deli.

I love having existed in a time where the Monte Cristo was on almost every diner menu. The biggest question was whether they offered a jelly, a compote, or a fruit yogurt as the dipping sauce. The only thing that kept me away from ordering it was how long it had been since I had ordered a Reuben.

Chicken stock for any stock pretty much will always work.

Well...

That actually kind of makes it all make sense...

Or a drive in. Show movies sundown to sun up. Get weirder and more obscure as it gets later.

This was a taunt. They're keeping all the good ones for themselves.

What's wrong with that? James Bond slept in barns while wearing tuxedos all the time.

There’s an elk going one way, and an elk going the other way, joined in the middle. An impossible 2-way elk. The only on the left is colored in warm orange tones, with cooler colors on his neck fur and antlers, and the one on the right is mainly cool bluish with similarly contrasting parts. There’s abstract colors in the background suggestions of a sunrise. Around the middle of the 2-way elk is wrapped a light colored banner going around three times, just slightly tilted to the right off of vertical. Written on the banner are the words ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

Good on you for going back to the face. The banner still looks uninspired, though.

The CURRENT minimum wage is about what my spouse and I were making when we bought our first house over 30 years ago. Minimum wage still could get you an apartment and groceries. Barely.

Minimum wage should be a livable income.

You should get recognition at work for doing a good job.

The original profile pictures could at least pretend a little humanism. The new stuff... Just looks cheap like you can't be bothered to spend enough money to make a worthwhile tool.
