I'm thrilled to take on this role at a time when I think we're doing some of the best local reporting in the country, with far fewer resources than other newsrooms

I've learned more than I can say from Lydia, Joe E. & the rest of the crew—very thankful for the mentorship

This has been a long time coming!

We're expanding our footprint across San Francisco, we're hiring a tech/power reporter to dive in on Silicon Valley, we're continuing our deep coverage of City Hall, jails, immigration, & more

Onwards & upwards for all of us at Mission Local

K-12 teachers start out at $85,381 base salary, and go up to $131,654 for those with 26 to 28 years of experience

‘March for Billionaires’ planned in San Francisco. Is it satire? New group is advertising a "March for Billionaires" in San Francisco. Their language closely mirrors real tech executives’ rhetoric.

A new group is advertising a "March for Billionaires" in San Francisco next weekend, starting in wealthy Pac Heights.

The group says a planned California billionaire tax would hit "value creators" who are "building, not taking."

Is it satire?

S.F. offers cash to get RVs off the street. For some, it’s a deal. Others could lose thousands. At $175 per square foot, many living in broken down RVs are taking up an offer that guarantees thousands. But others may face steep debt.

Mission Local surveyed dozens of S.F. RV dwellers on the cost of their vehicles.

For some, the city’s cash offer is a welcome relief. But others could lose thousands.

13th S.F. immigration judge fired. Court will soon have just 4 judges left. The firing comes in the wake of mass dismissals by the Trump administration since April of this year.

A 13th immigration judge has just been fired in San Francisco.

With other judges retiring, the court, which started 2025 with 21 judges, will have just four in the new year.

It has the worse case backlog of any immigration court in California.
