Been working on some seraphon stuff lately, got these 2 lord of the rings war drakes on some foam rocks to give the height of spawn, I’m thinking about printing some fire effects for them. The disco pyramid needs to be done for next weekend’s tournament, pleased with it so far!

Has been a hot minute for me, although have been a busy boy with painting and playing! Got to chewing through my gitz backlog, kitbashed my old skink priest to be a starseer with the old slann and got archaon painted up as a wedding present for my friend- more regular posts coming soon!

Been on a fat losing streak recently but have been having fun and learning bits along the way too. Have revisited some of my ongoing projects too, finished off my FEC lot, cracked on with a couple SCE characters and did a batch of nighthaunt too :)

Have lost power to all the sockets in my house and it all needs a rewire so my 3d printing adventure has been curtailed- in the meantime, have had some fun games, my SBGL mate finally bested my lizards last night! Also painted up this strange looking beast of chaos?

I’ve been a bit of a stranger for the last month or so, have had family staying and been busy with work so not done a tonne of painting- I did get a 3d printer for christmas though so have been messing with that! I’m aiming to update more regularly on here this year :)

Had a mint time at my first doubles tourney today- low expectations were smashed with a 78-10 win in the first game! Lost the next 2 but had a great time against some very skilled and gracious opponents- managed to win best painted this time, broken my 2nd place curse on that at least! #warhammer

Had a great game last night, got my Hagnos on the table alongside the regular lads and managed to beat one of the club veterans for the first time! Nailbiting 45-40 win that went all 5 rounds, think I’m finally getting the hang of this game…

I’m going to try and get some more regular updates in once work settles down, but have cracked away at these fellas over the last week- need to get bases done but haven’t found time to mess about with the milliput etc yet!

It’s been a while! I’ve been super busy with work so haven’t really been able to commit to hobbystreak posting but figured I’d drop a few pics of what I’ve been up to lately- some painting, some playing and even a lil bit of sculpting :)

Not really been able to put together a run of painting due to external circumstances but did get a nice session in on the troll after everyone went to bed! Blocking in some colours always feels nice even if I’m not sure they’ll be the final choices

#hobbystreak for today was my first game against the ironjawz! A little underwhelming of a game tbh, my opponent was a little under the weather and conceeded after a couple of turns despite not being super far behind- was cool to actually get my trogg combo off for once at least!

She’s based to be playable as a mega gargant or kragnos tbf, though it’ll be a while before she sees the table! The list I’m running at the mo can concievably take the mega gargant ror or kraggy depending on how many gobs I’m willing to lose 😅

Actually put paint to brush today! Had a great session painting with one of my best mates who’s on session 2 of his first mini :) got my squig herd ready to lend to a mate for the weekend’s tourney, then got into my trogg hag too #hobbstreak

#hobbystreak for yesterday was getting my chariots primed, I need to grab some milliput today and i’ve convinced myself that that is somehow integral to the painting process so didn’t really do much else with it yesterday- big plans for this evening though!

Bit of a boring one today but had loads of work to do and wasn’t feeling super inspired- built bases for my chariots that are still drying, went way too thick with the mud! Primed up the riders as well as my 3 new troggs, now to come up with a colour scheme for them.. #hobbystreak

Played a couple games of chill spearhead today, lost against my brother’s giants then ran a fun intro game for a friend who’s never played wargames before- he chose the sylvaneth and I random’d slaves, ended up with an 18-16 win after a horrendous start for him losing treeman turn 1! #hobbystreak

Promising #hobbystreak snuffed out yesterday by a trip to a and e for my partner- she’s alright thankfully, and managed to put some more paint onto our joint project the loonshrine! I also got stuck into Ushoran, did some big brush messy wet blends which I LOVE for the cloak

Rematched against a friend’s idoneth list that battered me last time- fairly similar result on this unfortunately! Still had a good time and learned a lot, and actually managed to kill the turtle this time so that’s progress! Identified a few blunders for next time which is helpful #hobbystreak

Busy day at work so very little painting has happened today- I did manage to slap the contrasts on this one poor lad who got forgotten at the back of the airbrushing desk when I batched the rest! Forgot to base my kb ROR for the game tomorrow despite having all week for it.. #hobbystreak

Rough first wash onto ushoran after taking a lil break from the morbhegs! Will need some tidying up but plan is to get a single coat of paint at least on every area of all of them before going back in on the big lads later #hobbystreak

Got some in last night but forgot to post- morbhegs getting close to being ready for acrylics, I accidentally did the red fur with a different paint for one of them so will see how noticeable it is when they’re all together and potentially slip some more pink on! #hobbystreak

Remembered to post just about on the right day :) slapped a bit more contrast on the weapons and beasts for my morbhegs, going to be a rough basecoat to be highlighted with regular acrylics later! #hobbystreak

Boo this man, he forgot again! I did a similar blend of contrasts to my banners for the scrappy bits of wings on the morbhegs- really pleased with how it’s turned out! Have also realised I can stick them on the side of my cabinet for extra storage space.. #hobbystreak

These early starts are really messing with my ‘post mini pics’ body clock- yeaterday’s work was mistly airbrush stuff on ushoran and my morbhegs, picked up a new contrast paunt for the brown and pretty pleased with it as a basecoat- big man himself needs darker purple on his cape! #hobbystreak

Took the pic but forgot to post! I ended up playibg a great game against nurgle (first time!), no pics as his army was unpainted- managed a tight 60-56 win in the end! Also managed to get the cryptguard largely finished for my FEC, gonna try snowy bases I think (sorry pic sucks lol) #hobbystreak

Thanks bud, this was the last batch so had refined the orocess a bit by now! Not 100% on it but definitely happy with it for basic troops, next ones will be the old black knights so going to try the same with them :)

Bit late but ended up finishing off the bases for my last batch of skeles and am thus free from their boney shackles #hobbystreak

Really pleased with these quick and dirty banners, just mixed a couple of contrasts together with a big wet brush and swirled it til it looked extra gross- then monitored as it dried to stop it pooling too much at the bottom! Also shaded the skin on the rest of the unit #hobbystreak

#hobbystreak today was a monday gameday to catch up for a missed one last week! I’m really enjoying gitz but definitely misplayed this quite hard, some great rolling turns 4 and 5 couldn’t overcome mistakes made early doors! Next time, all willl be painted including my loonshrine :)

Did a little tweaking on my skin recipe for the fleshesters on this model which came as part of the lot already painted decently- it had pale skin so I slapped some plaguebearer flesh and then coelia greenshade on top, before changing the base rock to fit my scheme #hobbystreak
