The first place Minnesota Twins
Baseball!
So ends one of the most ridiculous days in MLB history
In just ten games, 144 runs were scored, meaning teams averaged over 7 runs each
Had this been a full slate of games, there would be a pretty solid chance of breaking the 222 runs in a day record from 1962, which actually had 20 games played
watching the Mets
I have a gift and that gift is being able to identify good value contact first infielders on small market teams

What
This is one of the greatest frames in baseball broadcasting history
And for those who have been mean SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!
(constructive criticism reluctantly appreciated though)
Hey thanks to those of you that have given me kind words about the First Pitch Pod, excited to be able to do it!
oh dear tomorrow is the day
Jacob deGrom has not thrown a pitch below 90 mph so far today
He is looking *so* good
Twins booth has spent the entire bottom of the 6th talking about a fan that used to comes to games with “Mauer 7” shaved from his back hair
I love this sport lmao
The San Francisco giants have been shut out both of their first two games played
They join 14 other teams since the live ball era of being shut out their first two games. If they are shut out again tomorrow, they’ll join only the 2016 padres to be shut out 3 times
Opening day should be a national holiday
And every team should play a game on opening day
The best part, Buxton, Larnach, Wallner is a good outfield. Larnach has been about a league average outfielder, Wallner has an ugly swing but consistently productive, and Buxton is great
Infield is weird. Bell, Keaschall, Lee, Lewis and Clemens is not one that inspires confidence, but if Lee makes some defensive strides this can work
Jeffers is an average catcher and Caratini is probably an upgrade over Vazquez. Thank goodness I don’t have to watch Vazquez at bats anymore
Cole Sands is coming off a great year and Taylor Rogers is a nice reunion, but the rest of this bullpen looks bad. Anything can happen with middle relievers, but I am pessimistic overall
Ryan, Ober, SWR, Abel, Bradley is a pretty decent rotation that would look a lot better if Lopez was still in the mix. I’m bullish on both Abel and Bradley, but bearish on Ober this year. With Zebby as the de facto SP6 I think this rotation is quite solid
Ok let’s break this down
Honestly this broadcast was fine
What the hell am I looking at
LISTEN TO THE SHALLOWS RAAAAAAAH
I forgot to say this on the pod last week, but Otto Lopez is a stud and may be the single best value pick in the draft.
His ADP is 245 yet THE BAT X projects him to hit .274/.324/.405 at second, with 12 home runs and 17 steals. Personally, I think he can beat those marks, but he’s good regardless
They should call it Meta World Peace
