This is very good
A must-read guide from @taniel.bsky.social about this year's state Supreme Court elections from coast to coast.
Mets @ White Sox in August. 👀
Maybe the White Sox should move to Sacramento. The sure do look like they like this ballpark.
Israel's attacks on the ambulances have drawn condemnation, including from the United Nations' human rights office, which said it was "shocked" and warned that intentionally targeting medics constituted a war crime. https://to.pbs.org/4dQHW89
Occam’s Kazoo: shamelessly pinched from FB!
CNN: “It’s a blowout… not even close… Pope Leo absolutely crushing Trump when it comes to how popular they are.”
That should read "structural change I've read that I like...."
Not that I don't like other changes but I like that the most. Expand the court ending current right wing dominance. Rotate justices ending political gaming of the Supreme. It'll still happen at lower levels requiring other solutions.

This is a good piece. I like Platner. I'm concerned (Yes, I know we are talking about Maine here) about some of the things he said, particularly his 2013 comments about women and rape, but overall I like what I am reading here and think the contrast with Mills is right on target.

This isn't a question. As I've been saying for eight years now, Trump is the symptom not the disease. Yes, the symptom needs dealing with but it won't really be dealt with until we deal with the underlying disease.
"Since 2016, Democrats have debated whether or not the fundamental problem is President Donald Trump himself or the circumstances that produced him."

Speaking of "riding the circuit." The best structural change I've read is to alternate one justice from each of the 13 federal circuit courts to sit on the Supreme Court for a few years before being swapped out for another one from that court.
New euphemism for "pure, unadulterated horseshit" just dropped

Say you're a Christian one more time!
Yeah, both the Senate and Governor candidates for the Democrats seem to be in the lead so hopefully that carries the Democratic house candidate over the line. I guess there are four candidates. news.ballotpedia.org/2026/04/16/f...
Last polling I saw showed him in the lead though it is close. It is a Republican leaning district. But hopefully you are right and when it comes down to election day undecideds will say way to bringing him back again. What a shitshow he would be.
Thankfully Golden is not running again. He earned himself a Democratic challenger and decided not to run. Unfortunately, LePage is running to be the Republican candidate.
Pope Leo XIV: Jesus told us, blessed are the peacemakers. But woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.

You shall know them by their fruits.
Plus he's a table setter not a power hitter and the only thing Benintendi can occasionally do for us is hit a homerun... so they bat Benintendi first and put Antonnacci in the 5-hole???
I like Venable but that makes no sense whatsoever.
Wetherholt or Griffin!
